You and Rosemary carried haaaard the start of the livestream on Saturday. Let me tell you… I’ve worked for ESPN and Fox Sports in Mexico, and some professional sportscasters wouldn’t be able to keep the conversation for as long as you were able to do during technical difficulties. You guys are amazing and super knowledgeable! Cheers!

As someone who has never played much past the elite four, let alone playing Pokémon competitively, these videos really have opened my eyes to how complex and fun Pokémon can be. I appreciate your explanations for the whole process of competitive and it has made me want to keep playing Pokémon, even dipping my feet into the more complex side of it.

I do think one of the most interesting things about Open Team Sheets is the way people are going to play with Speeds. It's one of the last pieces of hidden information and it allows you to do things like Adamant Meowscarada while opponents still have to assume Jolly. I have a feeling as things go on, the amount of people Speed Creeping certain mons will be to levels we haven't seen before.

You kind of got into it in this video, but sort of a "meta report" on the trends you saw at regionals would be cool, obviously Tauros was crazy popular but I'm sure you noticed some other things. Also your thoughts on the Series 2 rules would be interesting to hear as well :)

Hey Aaron! I've always been interested in VGC in previous generations, but have never been able to invest the time in team building. I started watching your videos at the start of this generation just because I liked your analysis and found them entertaining even though I wasn't playing myself. I decided to finally take the plunge and play VGC for the first time ever after this video was posted on Wednesday (the Paldean Tauros was the thing that convinced me to do it, as Tauros is one of my favorite pokemon of all time.) I just hit Master Ball tonight with a record of 28-18, and I owe basically all of that to watching your videos over the past month and a half. Thank you for everything that you do!

I don't know the full spreads, movesets, and items, of course, but did you consider leading Tinkaton at all instead of having it in the back? When I was watching the video, I felt like that was a big threat since it could hit 5/6 Pokémon for super effective without a clear response option. This is coming from someone who only plays occasionally and still has so much to learn 😅 But I wondered if there was a certain thought process I was missing

i really appreciate the opponents who play out the end of the game rather then leaving, it shows a level of sportsmanship you dont normally see in online gaming and also you have no idea what could happen there could be a misclick or a DC or even just a miss, ive won games i shouldnt have just by stalling 5+ turns with my last pokemon taking the max time and making my opponent rage quit, anything can happen

Hey Aaron! Loved having your commentary during regionals! I’ve always been interested in VGC and was actually curious if you’d agree with my thought process for the final game this team had against Chuppa Cross IV. Should Chuppa have adjusted to lead Meowscarda and Arcanine to threaten the mirror match with Meowscarda Gholdengo? I feel since it had AV, Intimidate and opportunities to pivot in and out since Dondozo has good bulk and Rest it could have been a game changer.
@DLAsmash2 жыл бұрын
Not sure I have a single favorite set from San Diego but every single one of Jiseok's matches had me captivated. It seemed like he fell behind in the first half of every game but still ended up winning. It was a master class in positioning and eliminating threats to clear the path to victory. I learned a ton from watching him and even more from playing with his rental team.
@Perseverance0072 жыл бұрын
Garganacl feels like a powerful wall to get past, I figured it was tough to play super defensively in a doubles format but it excels at it. Wide Guard and Protect scouts and handles a lot of situations it seems. Those tera choices and EV spreads are amazing too, really showcasing what it takes to win a huge tournament. Inspiring, really loving your content and Pokemon!
@ashelygordon6692 жыл бұрын
Honestly the San Diego Regionals were a lot of fun and it set an valid example of a common combination of Tatsugiri/Dondozo can be countered and not sure if changing Kingambit into water was the best option; I understand what they’re trying to achieve but it only worsened the situation considering Salt Cure does more chip damage than usual against opposing Water Pokémon but I wholeheartedly agree that team was tons of fun and not a lot of players didn’t have a counter to that tera type along with good offensive and defensive tactics to shut down opposing teams, it is very inspiring for sure!!! 🥲🙏🏻
@lukaskback97102 жыл бұрын
I find it interesting how good this Garganacl set is against Gholdengo, which was on like 75% of the top cut teams. - Wide Guard blocks Make It Rain - Purified Salt blocks Shadow Ball - Tera Poison blocks Focus Blast - Salt Cure does extra residual damage and bypassed Gholdengo’s ability.

Happy he won, I've been using blaze tauros. I had to different sets, one more a meme but it was bulky with CC, raging bull, wips and trail blaze also grass tera. Other was standard 252 with wisp cc raging bull and flare blitz. People was telling me dont use tauros to use Arcanine instead because intimidate on decline and clear amulet exist. Still used it though, I though having flare blitz and stab on cc was better than non stab cc and extreme speed. My main problem was picking an item for tauros, thanks to that one dude I now run mirror herb 😂

My favorite thing about this team is that there's nothing you can point to as being broken and clearly abused (maybe Gholdengo, but it's also a "bulky" Gholdengo so I'm giving it a pass plus it's clearly not the star of team). It's just a very solid team with a wide variety of tools and great synergy. Congrats to the champ for dunking on Donbozo in the finals and for creating a great team. Also great job on the commentating Cybertron.

Do we think we'll start seeing Lead Torkoal in Series 2 because of Protosynthesis and because of how bulky it is, resisting Dazzling Gleam from Flutter Mane, and that it now gets Helping Hand?

QOTD: Favourite match was probably JoeUX9 battle where he was confused by a Dragonite hurricane and ended up hitting himself in confusion to lose and be eliminated. I've been playing in the top 200 in game the last day and I've played against this team multiple times as well as the rain team that came in 3rd place with Palafin. Everyone seems to be enjoying this team. Gargancle is so hard to take down if you don't have ground/psychic moves.

I was surprised how much of the meta I was able to predict accurately, but the thing that surprised me the most was the complete disappearance of Garchomp in Top 32 / Top 8 compared to facing an army of them day after day on Ranked. As many Garganacl as Garchomp in Top 32.
