Robert, What a Great Big Brother you are to bring Gabe and Kelly on a trip of a lifetime. Your family are great examples of southern traditional family's. Thank you
@canucklehead04 жыл бұрын
Beautiful area of the world. I grew up North of where you were in Southern Alberta, Canada and remember vividly the sights and smells of fishing and hunting along the Sheep River by Turner Valley Alberta. I'm glad you are showing so many of the remarkably beautiful places on our planet, not only for yourself and your family, but for all those who maybe crave adventure but for various reasons and commitments can't make it happen like you can. I'm sitting here today writing this and enjoying my coffee while outside the snow is falling and I'm anxiously waiting for the lakes around where I live to freeze over and ice fishing to begin!! I look forward to your next video and from those of Miss Young and Blue Gabe (who looked a bit bluer from the temperature), take care and God bless!

Its crazy to see you in my home waters, let alone catch a fish I tagged. I work for NOAA Fisheries at Lower Granite Dam where those floy tags are placed. We are currently studying angler interactions with wild and hatchery steelhead to determine mortality rates. The populations of steelhead that swim through the Snake River are listed on the endangered species act and take (AKA inadvertent mortality due to catch and release) from sports fisheries of these fish is a very important variable to track in order to open and manage its fishery. On another note, the injury you saw on that fish was either gill net mark or marine mammal injury (which we track as well) definitely not a bear and eagle. Anyway, glad you had an amazing time in the area I have grown to love. Keep all that amazing content coming!

Great trip, glad to have you guys up here in the PNW. The snake is such an awesome fishery. Also, the cool thing about steelhead vs salmon is that while a salmon spawns once and then dies, a steelhead will spawn several times, going back and forth from the ocean.

@paulm18824 жыл бұрын
Hey DeerMeat, I love in Oregon and fish for steelhead, those are real nice fish you got. I do have one note of criticism, wild steelhead are extremely fragile and you aren’t supposed to take them out of the water. When you go to touch them, it’s recommended that you get your hands wet first so you do not take their natural slime off of their scales. Nice fish!
