Your absolutely right scotty.i used to be very cagey about secret spots but i even doughnutted there often.An old fisho i talked to said treat fish like cows.Cows dont stay in one spot eating .There on the move from spot to spot.I now have ten spots around my original spots as the fish are moving around and are feeding up to 200 m away.theres even a difference between fish onscreen and fish feeding onscreen..don’t be afraid to move around and look for fish.there feeding somewhere.

Nicely backing up your theory there: 2 from 2 snaps on the "out the back and under" bait. So you are going to target KG's, you have a spot and a technique that work BUT you expect bycatch of demersals. Are you doing it during the closed season? I'm struggling with that hey. I should still be able to go and fish for sambo/skippy, but given that I have equal shot of getting demersals, an over enthusiastic enforcement officer may suggest I am targeting them... it's a tough one...

Yeah , won’t be using the jigs , but I feel if im using a paternoster rig with a long shank whiting hook, im targeting whiting. Yay I might get by catch but not intentionally.and I will go slowly and release Sambos and skippy are pretty easy , most spots where I find em you can litter ally sight cast at them

Just re read my comment and realised that it sounds like I'm saying that you shouldn't do it. Not how it was supposed to come across. I think you should be able to keep fishing for what you like and just not take any demersals, but it's hard to know if you could find yourself on the wrong side of the law for it. 🤷‍♂️

Exactly what i tell people. People wanna be spoon fed how to go and catch a 20kg dhufish. Or even Dhufish in general. It doesn't work like that. I figured out how by spending 3 years almost every weekend on the water.
