I often buy gathered skirts made of interesting or high-quality fabrics at the thrift shops. I take them apart and use the fabric to make other garments. I had been looking for a slightly fitted, sleeveless top pattern to make a top from a recently purchased printed silk skirt/fabric, and the Monika top is exactly what I was looking for.
