That's a really interesting coincidence, and I LOVE that he pointed this out- in my own meditation I've discovered that I'll have feelings, like sadness, depression, anger, or whatever really, and that when I add my thoughts to them, they just grow and get worse! But if I just sit and look at them and let them be, they tend to just vanish on their own.

Probably the most important lecture I have heard!

Thanks, this is actually a very important video, for me, especially about doubt. I have often felt when studying or w/e knowing more i realised how little i knew, which created more doubt. It's like doing research before buying some item, there are so many options, the more you know, the more doubt you have about what to buy, clouding your judgement.

18:45 - the most relevant part to me by this date, I constantly dismissed doubt as one of my hindrances thinking that I had confidence in the teachings, but it's actually really subtle

This is my favorite monk of all the ones I've heard he's practical, serious, and helpful some of the other ones get lost a little too much in what I think are mystics like other lives or they are too focused on keeping the talks entertaining that they get sidetracked a bit from the original topic.

Ajahn Dhiravamso brings up a lot of points to why your meditation might not be going in the right direction some days. It had me thinking and how to make some changes for the better. Saadhu,Saadhu

Thank you Your words inspired me as a Therapist. a monk can handle so many objects of desire, the ordinary person has much to learn from dealing with the object of desire and adiction,Like to distract the discourse on the object.

I live alone in isolation and without contact with a Buddhist teacher. At 86 years of age, I have been meditating for quite a few years. I received instruction on vipassana during a 3-year stay with forest monks in Eastern Thailand. I have now observed a white spiral mental image emerging from my stomach whenever I determine it. I have also observed the room filled with golden light accompanied by a churning sensation in my lower spine. Are these forms of nimeta and are they hindrances.
