I saw them live several times back in the 80’s and was always thoroughly entertained. No synchronized hair tossing and no 20 minute guitar solos. Just good solid music that anyone can appreciate.

I like how they just get on with the job without making a theater of themselves. Not to say that they aren't theatrical which they certainly are. Just that they make it about the music and performing it well. No histrionics or attempts to offer substandard performances unlike many other bands from the 80s. Plus The Fixx have taken care of themselves. We all get older and continue to age - and they handle that process quite well and with dignity. Again, unlike some of their contemporaries who look like parodies of their former selves. The Fixx have interesting songs and their newer stuff is interesting also. I always catch them when I see them coming through town.

How many bands have been around for 35 40 years still have all five core members that are all still on top of their game!? I find that in itself incredible. And they've never changed their style or tried to fit in with the latest trend they just do what they do and they do it well.

I love how interactive the crowd is!!! If you watch a few of their performances of Red Skies in the 80s, Cy tries his best to get them to sing along but they just stand there :( You’re paying to be there, enjoy it! It’s especially hard not to with The Fixx ;)

Damn, saw these guys play at the Orange County Fair, summer of 1984, right before I joined the Navy. General Public opened for them. Amazing times the 80s. Also saw Berlin, Missing Persons and Talk Talk just a few weeks before that. I'd give anything to go back, screw this world today.

Seeing them in September in Dallas at the Granada. Last time I saw them was with my late brother at Mississippi Nights in St. Louis in the 80's. For me, The Fixx is timeless.

Kind of sad to watch this video directly after the 1982 MTV live video. Back then the song was being preached to the listener, today it's being sung in tribute to itself and that era. If I the The Fixx, I wouldn't submit to the "let's all celebrate our old songs together" temptation, and would still try to challenge the crowd with the performance, and also bringing new songs in concert. In fact, the only 80s band I know that doesn't fall into the "tribute band to ourselves" mode is U2.

There is no band that has this specific and unique sound and style to their music and compositions, as the Fixx. Never heard anything remotely like them before or since.
