Tell everyone the price of HVACR work is going to increase because of more risk to the mechanics. It’s already high but prepare for more. Mechanics will demand more money for the added risk and new tools required

I just recently got certified for A2L refrigerant. They are not super flammable like everyone thinks. I know a lot of people are scared due to the fact that it’s a little more flammable. A lot of people don’t realize though the refrigerant they use in their car is extremely flammable though but they’re OK driving that.

That’s not my concern when a system is already operational. My concern is having to unsweat something such as a TXV and a flame ball erupts in my face.

On Italy we use a2l for yrs now, it’s like r410

Yeah I hear the complaints about the flammability a lot. From guys that work with natural gas and propane no less. Keep getting the word out that it's safe if treated with respect

I have to disagree, we will see ten years down the road if this was the solution to the global warming issue.

Right, look at Liberal states that are forcing electric and outlawing propane and gas. This will be a temporary solution just like R22.

iv'e seen that happen a few times usually its running so it ignites and burn's ... because of the oil........

A lot of HVAC guys not understanding basic chemistry is the main driver behind the fear mongering. There is no difference. The same guys have been charging 410A systems for years without thinking about the R32 content in 410A.

I'm actually much more concerned about guys getting oxygen into the system. Fuel, oxygen, and pressure is an explosive recipe.
@HVACRTECH-838 ай бұрын
It's not an issue lol. Firstly, guys should know enough to not have any air in any system to begin with. Don't make more of a big deal out of this than it needs to be. Not much is going to change for us at all with this change. Units arnt going to explode or go up in flames. Follow the best practices we already all should be and there's no dangers.

@@HVACRTECH-83 I don't know how much time you spent in the field, but we work with some real idiots. The things I have seen other companies do, do in fact include starting up systems without pulling a vacuum. I also don't know how much experience you have with explosives, but I assure you that fuel + oxygen + pressure can indeed equal explosion, even when a match wouldn't normally generate a fire.

All fun and games until a compressor lug blows infront your face. This stuff is not a good idea.
