Turner Raines they lost their way and their own voice. After S2 the show became stale and boring, the over abundance of characters also ruined it a long with the villains and how drawn out every feels.

I wanted him to be H G Wells. Im a massive fan of the 90's Lois and Clark series. And id hoped it was him, and they'd bring Tempest back. Tempest knew he was on a TV show and would say things like "the only thing that would ruin this is a cut to commercials" Then it cut to adds. Or "Im the bad guy. We always have a plan" My fave line was. "If history has taught us anything its two things. Never go to war with Russia. And never over estimate the goodness of Superman!"

Whoever wrote this episode is a genius. The idea that Wells/Thawne was moving so fast that he literally was in two places at once is amazing. It's the perfect way to mess with your audience, especially when they already know that Wells isn't who he says he is. He's pretending to be paralyzed, he knew Barry was going to be struck by the lightning, he wants to figure out how to steal his speed. The audience at this point is suspicious of Wells and then the writer misleads you and gets rid of those suspicions by having Wells and the man people think he is be in the same room at once, and physically touch each other, only to after the fact confirm that, no, he actually is the bad guy and leave your audience completely and in all sense of the word, confused.

massive plot hole though. So Joe breaks the force field and "Well's" on the floor is a "Speed mirage" right? So are we meant to believe that Joe AND Eddie both never once in the 5 minutes after, went to check on "Well's"? If they did, the mirage would of broken. And its NOT a time remnant as those weren't conceived yet and Well's later says "Its called an after image, a speed mirage, if you will"

Speed mirage depends on him going back and forth between the two locations. He is moving too fast to see while travelling between them, but pauses ever so slightly at each location. So, neither one is a mirage and both are because he has to spend and equal amount of time in each location.
