If I remember correctly, in the New 52 comics, Barry could focus his mind to move fast enough to think into possible futures. It's a shame he never did it naturally in this series, only as a result of the artificial speed force.

I know I actually hate we saw barry do less cause I feel that's what makes the flash fight fun. I mean, I enjoy the lightning constructs, but there is never any hand to hand impact. With the fist to fist fight, they feel real like one of them are gonna get hurt

Reason why I feel it’s worse is cause it’s missing that immersive feel whenever a speedster runs by a camera. Before the camera would shake a bit as if it’s affecting the camera but now it’s just steady
