The FleeceKing Situation is Crazy - Niantic Embarrassed!

The thing about FleeceKing’s case, is that it was unique. A public figure like him is targeted and account hacked into, and there is explicit video evidence that his Pokémon were transferred, with said person having a Twitter account of a sociopath and a clear history of spoofing and getting his account(s) suspended. If this happened to a regular player, with no idea who targeted them, and with no video evidence of them losing their Pokémon - then what would Niantic do? Would they dismiss their request due to lack of evidence, or would they actually dig into the logs of what happened …. Because for all we know, a disgruntled relative or friend may have grabbed their phone and deleted their Pokémon. Alternatively, if the player shared their account by providing their login credentials to someone out of the country, who then turned out to be a malicious bad actor and deleted all their Pokémon, then would this player be entitled to Pokémon restoration like FleeceKing? I truly believe FleeceKing’s situation is unique in this sense.

You never see hackers do anything good like erase people's loans or deposit extra money in your accounts. 😭

He did what was called social engineering to gain access to an account that is not his. That is a type of hack

i hate the guy because he is an asshole, but i also see some small silver lining here, which is that now we have definite proof that Niantic can turn back clocks on accounts and restore stuff onto accounts. so technically in the future in similar cases people should be able to pressure Niantic to do what they are supposed to do and help people with issues with their accounts.

Two wrongs don’t make a right but why was the arrogance and problematic reply on twitter by Fleece as much as this hacker who really didn’t hack.

im still confused why the hacker hates fleeceking so much? getting reported for something on twitters not a big deal don't you get like 3 strike? and you have to actually done something wrong for the report to count as one of your strikes? so fleecking wasn't the only person that reported this guy. also the controversy you said fleece said about crying a river is also not a big deal who cares if he gets free stuff I get free stuff at Ikea but no one should hate me for that.

We have our own gripes with Niantic and how they go with the games with all the changes, their greediness, how dull and empty some of the events are and so on, but don't be this guy and go for the creators or be an arsehole tbh, bring it up to the company, honestly Niantic deserves to be humiliated or get a wake up call, but not like this, but at least he got his account and Pokémon back (Well, we should get our Pokémon back if these things happen and I dunno why we don't back then), but all this set a president to them to do the same same for others, but yeah

Honestly I do feel bad for fleece but I do not think it's right for Niantic to play favorites which is literally what happened. Also it's a double standard. You cant say u can't recover any trainers Pokemon but then recover a big Pokemon go KZbinrs Pokemon. That just makes them look like scumbags and honestly it would been better and more respectful if they didn't do anything. That way it's fair for all people. If fleece got all those at one point there is no reason for him not to get them again.
