The best Synology routers killer out there, and the open source openwrt is the cherry on top of the cake. This should be the home routers to have.

This is definitely a great home router option. I’d recommend this to pretty much anyone including tech nerds.

@@SPXLabs I even have forgot those 2 x 2.5GB ports, you buy a cheap a 2.5GB switch and bang, you can have the hole house with not only wifi6 but 2.5GB LAN allover the house, everything including the switch below 250 USD, thats impressive.

You went into some great detail, thank you! This looks like a cool option for someone like me who wants to tinker and control more advanced settings but only lives in a 1BR apartment.

The crazy part is, I didn’t even show off the “Advanced” pages. There is an entire other section with even more nitty gritty settings lol

@@SPXLabs After seeing what they did with the settings on their Beryl travel router, I'm not surprised 😅 They're building in that nice spot between entry level commodity hardware and expensive overkill for the prosumers. Love it.

@tylerrobb yeah this is nestled in a very good spot. If I didn’t have my lab and stuff that I have today, I think this would be the router I owned. It’s pretty sick

I have the original Flint 1 and it's a fantastic piece of equipment. Supplies WiFi to entire house. No issues with streaming multiple devices. It's basically rock solid. I'm def going to grab this Flint 2 when I come acrosst a few spare shekels

I have the OG Flint, worked really well. The AP performance was fantastic, but I didn't like the software on it. I needed something like Omada for my needs, which is what I switched to. But when I move out of my house somewhat soon, I'll put the Flint back because for simple home use it was fantastic.
@SPXLabs
@SPXLabs 7 ай бұрын
Oh interesting! That’s funny because I feel the opposite, I like this more than Omada because it’s simple and then they have the advanced pages for more nitty gritty activity. Maybe the old software is different?

@@SPXLabs For a long time, I couldn't get the OpenVPN working when the early V4 of the Glinet firmware was released. That bug finally got fixed, but I've just never liked OpenWrt. But, I have one at work that runs my production network for live lighting and sound, and it's rock solid! Fantastic AP performance

Do you have any results on the speed while tethering or in repeater mode? My old GL-AR750 doesn't have the best hardware so I think I'm loosing bandwidth from it, but I wanted to know how this one was.
@SPXLabs
@SPXLabs 6 ай бұрын
I do not. I don’t believe iPhone will allow tethering and if it did my speeds would be abysmal. Like 5Mbps tops.

I received the #glinet #mt6000, and I am very disappointed, the wifi is unstable, my speed varies between 300mb/s and 650mb/s with the same device and at the same distance, support response "go see a link on the wifi in real world", the joke a link that treats more than up to the AC. Don’t buy this fake router.

Interesting. It has been working great for me. While there is some variability it’s pretty tight. Not as wide as yours. I wonder why yours is so drastic. Wish I could help. Sorry….
