Some advice for your farmhouse (coming from someone whose relative owns a small ranch and has raised livestock her whole life): stick with darker colors because lighter colors will show all the mud that kids/animals will track through the house, a mud room with a shower and washer/dryer, have an area that you can put whatever baby animals need a little extra help (bottle babies or just need to get warm/monitored). Advice for the farm: look into different biosecurity measures such as disinfectants for vehicles going on and off the farm to prevent the spread of diseases and footbaths to dip your boots in when going to different pens, set up a quarantine area for all species you will have (biosecurity comes into play here), keep med kits for people and animals in any vehicle that you will be driving on the farm as well as restraints like a halter and extra ropes, make catch pens every so often in the fields so you can corral sick or injured animals and have a space so you don't have to chase them all over the place, look into livestock guardian dogs and herd dogs, use a fence that animals (sheep, goats) can't get their heads stuck in (they are good at that).
