The Floor is LAVA Hardcore Survival Mode! (Ep 1)

Hey everyone back with more Scrap Mechanic Survival! Today we are potentially starting a new series where the floor is LAVA! Since we're waiting on chapter 2 I thought it might be fun to use the floor is lava mod by @Dr-Pixel to experience the most hardcore survival possible!

so, if you carry a full inventory of waterbuckets, you have kind of a life insurance for a few seconds. That´s nice ^^

This is BRILLIANT!!! For travel, you could use a speedrunner strategy, and use the corrugated roof piece as a surfboard, 'cos the friction of those roof pieces are extremely low, and slidey.

what i love is that most people add mods for a better gameplay or an easier time playing the game but no, you just made your life far far more difficult! its actually frustrating to watch but i cant wait for the next one.

That's awesome that there is a mod for this challenge. Good luck! SM has a small glitch where if you spam-click the lift it spawns multiple of it (although only one at a time can actually move), so it would be funny to see little walkways all over the map made of lifts, though that would go against the spirit of this challenge.

A sliding sledge out of the starter shed is a fast way to get through to the mechanic station. If you want it safer, another way would be to build two platforms roughly 10x10 wide and lift them from back to front and jump between them. This also has the advantage of being able to get weaponize it in case of a Bot attack... just lower the platform till they get crushed. AAAnd! A New Survival Serie! How Great Is This! WuuuhUUU!

It's interesting for an episode or two but i'm pretty sure after that it'll just become tedious. I don't think it's the kind of gimmick that'll last much longer tbh especially since it'll matter less and less once you get established. The no seat rule also sounds unbelievably annoying after you get over the novelty since SM physics make driving at any kind of speed without one near impossible. And you could just have taken apart the shed at the beginning and used one of the metal roofs to slide on with the hammer. Faster than walking or harvesting trees and much safer than lift jumping.

I did a play through with my friend on his world with this mod just a bit ago. The first thing we did was harvest wood and make sleds in the 1 and 2 damage areas. We only dies 6 times reaching the mechanic station and those were all on 128 damage areas.

@@Hadeks_Marow Half an inventory each by the time we got into scrap city. Honestly though we never went through more than 4 or 5 at once once we had proper "warehouse tank" style vehicles. We basically ran around in little metal 3 tanks most of the time.

take a look on a SM Survival speedrun. You can take a sheet metal, stand on it and move by hammering it. that's fast, efficent and you don't touch the ground :b

I think both no beds and no seats is going to just be too far. If you fall off the vehicle on the far side of the map, it will be instant death. There are spots with rough terrain where you won't be able to get past without a seat. So you'll fall off an die instantly. And then you basically have to start over and build a new vehicle to get almost back to your first vehicle. And then, based on this video, pretty soon you'll have three vehicles that need rescued.

I suggest doing the speed run strat because it's really good for getting of the ground + Speed + a car of some sort. At the start, near the ship, the lake, there is a shed of some sort. Take the near frictionless blocks and build a platform. then stand on the platform and hit the platform to accelerate forward. SOMEBODY GET'S KANS ATTENTION TO THIS ( Hop Kan see's this! ) Edit : like you explained 21:39 to 21:51 but NO WHEELS and NO EFFORT TO GET THE MATERIAL!

You can fill water buckets from water containers by right clicking them with a bucket in your hands, could farm by collecting water bottles with a vaccum pump and using it to fill containers

Surprised you didn’t use the ‘roof sledge’ trick! You can take the roof of the gardeners shack next to the farming tutorial sign at the crashed ship and stand on it whilst hitting one end of it with a hammer and you’ve got a fast easy sledge.

This is a great idea for a series (if you ran out of ideas for the mp series, read my comment below your mp videos, I suggested a lot). so, I´d say, make the floor scrapwood/wood1 or scrapmetal/metal1, where you need it. Wood is a massive representated ressource and scrapmetal is literally an endless supply, as long as bots spawn in your game.

I think this is worth sharing the sufferi-I mean experience with. Get kosmo, Scrapman, iBallisticSquid, Moonbo, and or John Bain on this. That way you're not the only one moving around weirdly when ch 2 launches.

1 suggestion since i recently kind of 'complained' about Dr Pixel Plays content 'devolving' (and while it was with best intentions i feel bad for it lol) please include him in this series, so co-op lava survival, im sure you could make some great workarounds/contraptions for dealing with the lava floor, but together you guys could make even cooler ones :)

You should make a platform to slide around on by hitting it with a sledgehammer. Much easier than lift jumping.

Later in the game, make an infinite bubble block generator, and use one of those things that spit out blocks to spit out the bubble blocks on a roll, and the roll can then be used for block storage instead of chests. The block spitter should be able to move further away, so the roll can be bigger, and so on. It's similar to eating corn, but in reverse, but less disgusting or weird than eating corn in reverse.

This is going to be fun although I think you are allowed to use a seat on vehicles, because I don't think they are going to be too OP. You still get launched out. If all not using a seat will make it more painful, because if you don't use a seat you can glitch trough your vehicle causing you to die instantly.
