Do you remember last December The Flying Scotsman came by the Railworld Wildlife Haven ?
Well 30 years ago The Flying Scotsman visited the Nene Valley Railway and they ran a series of Freight Train Photographic Specials which I captured using my analogue Video 8 Camcorder !
Simon Kelsall of My Digital Media (www.mydigitalmedia.uk) has been digitising & editing these old videos for me and we thought you might like to see what the Flying Scotsman looked like pulling a freight train.
Most of the Box Vans were donated by British Sugar Corporation of Spalding and acquired by Roy Harrison for the NVR.
You will notice that the Flying Scotsman - real number 60103 appears as different members of the same class - 60039 Sandwich & 60106 Flying Fox both of these locos were based at New England Loco depot coded 34E - this was all part of the photographic exercise.
Enjoy my friends !
