The Flying Scotsman

A wee bit of fun…
This short BBC film is one of many celebrating the recent re launch of the meticulously rebuilt awesome “Flying Scotsman” .. so I thought I’d grab some of our music from the Railway Series' and stick it over the film.. main part was adaptation for the Post Train which I think was Series 5
“trains” in the blood, from a very young age…….
best to watch film in full screen ... detail is awesome.....

The Flying Scotsman. An A1 Pacific designed by the one and only Sir Neigel Gresley. The first recorded rail lovomotive to ever go past 100mph. This locomotive is the definition of "Train History" and one to remember. And it all started, with a man by the name of Robert Stephenson, inventer of "The Rocket."

The Rusty to the Rescue theme is simply beautiful, especially the climactic part when the two cross over the bridge in front of the moon. I also like hearing that little episode closing piece at the end of the video, I always loved how it sounded

On the topic of the music, I recognise the first piece from ‘Rusty to the Rescue’, a piece I am calling ‘Stepney’s Escape / Across the Border (Mission Accomplished)’. In my view, it has an Indiana Jones style to it. It could almost serve as an alternate piece to the escape of Indy and Henry from the Temple of the Grail, although ‘Finale & End Credits’ is an epic piece. The music and footage are just legendary. Both Henry Jones and I say, “Well done, Junior!”

So at long last we get some clear Thomas music from none other than one of the legends behind it all; quite fitting given Gordon would be very pleased to hear his brothers running again at long last. To be honest at first I didn't even know this was Thomas music; till the all familiar vibe from "Rusty to the rescue" set in as I had not expected a clear version of the original themes as the closest we got were generally fanmade. I'm amazed there wasn't an official soundtrack release. Thomas really hasn't been the same without you and Mike composing the music. :)
