My theory is that he is yet another version of Golden Freddy, Goldie changes appearance in every game he is in to the respective Freddy version, so Yenndo in that case is his choice

Scott’s games really has that feel to it that, may look poor and outdated, with the weird blurry textured evironments, and simple shaped characters. And yet gives it a nostalgic quality that I just adore. Like even it’s sound effects just feels so nice. It’s one of those things where I can’t give an exact example of any other media to compare it to despite calling it nostalgoc.

I feel like Mendo could've been a great edition to security breach, another "passive" animatronic like Freddy and technically Sun. Probably have some sort of shop mechanic to him, like he sells items to you for faz tokens you may find laying around. Items could include things that increase your movement speed, how fast Freddy appears when you call him, animatronic deterrents, etc. Not only would it bring back Mendo but it could also make the game more strategy oriented. Maybe only have a limited amount of currency so you really have to put thought into what upgrade you'd really need. Idk I think bringing him back as a shopkeeper again would be quite fun

About the models, I agree the older ones have a special charm to them, unline the new ones. The "bad" quality of the animatronics in FNAF 1 was one of the reasons they were so scary in the first place. In my opinion an outdated and shabby FNAF 1 Chica is way more terrifying than Glamrock Chica. It just made the horror more real

I have always loved how weirdly realistic and i guess muddy Scott’s games were, that’s what gives that signature FNAF look. The trailers for FNAF 1 look like they could potentially exist somewhere. That’s kinda what you want when making a FNAF game, the characters look like they should feel out of place in such a realistic environment yet they aren’t. FNAF 1 Freddy has that darker, thicker, and uncleaned furry tone on him, Steel Wool makes him look cleaner which in my opinion kinda takes away from the horror aspect.

As Scott said in Dawko's interview (paraphrased) FNAF World is one of THE most important FNAF games. It was an important lesson for him not to take his fans for granted, and gave us so much in terms of lore and characters that are crutial to the franchise

1 fnaf world should be a easter egg in one of the arcades in security breach as i feel like it would fit, although i think fnaf world was meant for a arcade machine in fnaf 3, scott cant predict the future so i supposed he thought arcade machines would be more high tech able to play a whole rpg just with a couple quarters cause of the clock minigames and the dotted eyes at the end of the clock ending. 2, i fele like endoplush would have made sense here, cause i never saw endoplush again, it could be a endo for plushtrap but i dont think so for balloon boy, ucn depicted jj with a cylinder endoskeleton. My guess is that it was forgotten because it’s just an endoskeleton, but if that’s the case then that’s a real shame. They could have made a fun gimmick with them (maybe something like in security breach it could stretch its arms out to grab you, and maybe make it immune to flashing because of its improved armor?) Also as a person who loves robots, Mendo was my favorite out of those 3.

With Steel Wool making the games, they don’t look so much like Scott's games no more. Scott makes his games with almost realistic shaders and renders. With Steel Wools free roaming games, the textures are still fine but the shaders feel so blank, almost like what gta shaders look like. But hey, I'm not dissing them. I love the games they made and it seems like awesome additions to the FNAF universe.

I mean, since all of Scott's games were pre-rendered 2D games, not actual 3D ones, they kinda can't apply the kind of shaders Scott used, definitely not without performance issues and really high computer requirements.

When you compared the 2 Freddie's, I had a word come to mind: sanitized. The newer stuff is overly sanitized so nothing shows the grime of reality. It's weird to see animatronics with allegedly a lot of murder and pizza around to be so spotless and perfectly built. It's not natural, as natural as a chucky cheese animatronic can be so your brain goes slightly more uncanny valley than it should and the veneer starts to be broken juuuust a little

i honestly think that scott's quality of work isn't appreciated enough. even back in fnaf 1, everything just looked so authentic and the perfect mix of realistic and stylised. he nailed it the first time around, which is crazy to me. and i like that his style is so instantly recognisable, it's also pretty dynamic too. i find it funny that he decided to make sister location go full on sci-fi literally just because he likes doing sci-fi stuff lmao

Personally I prefer Scott’s style for his animatronics The semi-realism of how they look is amazing, as a game designer you fall in love with the simple but major details of the characters Let’s take Freddy as an example Freddy has always looked dead and has a stare that feels like it’s staring not at you but into your soul And with the new SB characters they just look shiny and alive, which necessarily isn’t bad but I wish they had the effect of Scott’s characters Even when the SB animatronics got decommissioned they still looked alive and happy (specifically Chica) she lost her beak and has cracks but she still looks well polished and not so dirty and didn’t really scare me, her sounds are good (everyone’s sounds are good) He also had a lot of effort put into the jump scares! Meanwhile I feel as if SB jump scares are low effort and not scary what so ever, it’s sad to say even the map bot and security bots’ jump scares were scarier than the main animatronics ones I really wish SB was more put together and had a little more scary affect to it in general

fnaf 1 was the only game with real "good" jumpscares tbh, I mean like they were all scary and cool in their own way but in fnaf 1 they are actually physically there. in the other 2d ones the animatronics were always kinda put on an extra layer while the ones in fnaf 1 were actually rendered IN the room which made them so immersive

@@Hadeto_AngelRust I have to disagree with you security breach has more anxiety because you have to get the multiple endings and the enemies everywhere Plies is one of the few times I actually get free to roam the map on our own instead of following a basic guideline which is the first time the last time we had that was the fourth Five Nights at Freddy's game I like the game not because of the jump-scares but because of the extra anxiety you get when playing because not only did the survive animatronic get to survive a serial killer control by William Afton on the loose and to add insult to injury tons of Security will box that is everywhere that will alert you to the other animatronics so yeah

1:03 I think the difference here may be a combination of perspective and the focal length differences of the virtual camera rendering each model. Scott’s original model is rendered at the perspective of a child looking up it and the model has a lot of lens compression making it look more overbearing. The shadows also are darker and contour the figure to give it a more sinister look. The other model however is rendered from a top down perspective, making it look like a small toy. It also has less lens compression causing it to appear closer. The shadows are vanishingly soft, reducing the appearance that the figure is slipping into the shadows unlike the original counterpart. It also looks like it was rendered using a ray tracing engine, which is why the shadow of the hand is scattered, increasing the softness of the shadows. The new animatronic looks cleaner, like it’s on it’s first day instead of having all sorts of stains of grease and grime, with subtle imperfections missing in the new one unlike the original. Notice how in the original the ears are a little wonky, the eyes slightly misaligned, the hip slightly tilted, like the animatronic has been doing this same routine for years and has had dozens of mechanics service it. The left one falls right in the middle of the uncanny valley while the one on the right tries a little too hard and misses the mark of both realism and subtle sinister horror. Also, the one on the right looks kinda like it’s made out of clay.

1:50 This is besides the ultimate point if the video, but I think that Deedee's FW model was used in UCN because her whole mechanic was a reference to FW, considering the same little notification for a new character appearing was also used. Deedee and OMC are the only FNaF World reps in that game, so I think it's fitting that the original assets were used to more accurately preserve that part of the franchise's history.

Scott's original designs have a tough, rugged exterior, that isn't especially pretty, but definitely has charm. The later designs are like if you tried to manufacture that style as a Mcdonalds toy. But since this video is about Mendo, I'll give my take on him: Scott's original style for animatronics would work wonders for Mendo. Lolbit never really got a full body, but the more realistic animatronic head still looked very nice, and Dee Dee just....didn't change, not that it'd matter. Imagine you're in an office, and a tall, blue, cool looking endoskeleton enters the room. That'd be a cool five seconds before he rips your face off.

@@ice_wolfie Problem is how little we actually saw of her or her motives and how redundant she was when they brought back Afton anyway. Probably someone who had no relation to the Aftons found out about the haunted nature of the animatronics and found it as a way to achieve immortality using unsuspecting children as test subjects to get the process to work. How some thief who suspected that despite the reputation and multiple closures, fazbear entertainment must have some money or technology somewhere that they can keep on reopening. they may be hacking the animatronics to assist them by accessing places to avert suspicion unaware that it's turning the animatronics less stable. May not exactly an easy horror game angle (may be if it's the playable character that would turn into a villain later on when the animatronics turn on them) but it would be a change of pace than another murderer because they will probably get older faster than Afton because it's retreading a lot.

Them bringing him back feels both disrespectful to the original lore, but it's also very hard to care since it's clearly just waving a dead story around going "hey, hey, please pay attention to our game!!! we got the funny rabbit man!!!!". If they continue with a new villian, they both aren't limited by the already dried out story relating to Afton, and it's easier to get invested and interested outside of that. They have a great universe with what they've established, they could have a copycat, a thief stealing the animatronics without realizing, they could have a new inventor whose machines are posessed by the children's released souls, etc. But instead it's just "He's baaaaaaaaaaack, ouuuuuuuu spooky!", and then we just go "oh hey, aaaa, I'm scared. where's the fire button this time?".

I liked Mendo too. I miss him. I've been thinking about making a mod for FNaF 6 that adds him into the game for a while now. Now would probably be the time to make that mod.

Before Security Breach released I even made a prediction that since Lolbit and DeeDee appeared in the other games, that Mendo would appear in Security Breach. I was really expecting to see him in there, but I hope maybe he'll return in a DLC or a future game!

My favorite types of animatronics are the endo’s, and Mendo is definitely in my top 5. Mendo is a cool FNAF world character, even though his deals are expensive. #JusticeForMendo

I love the way scott made fnafworld look. That visual style is so nostalgic to me, and was captured beautifully in that Tyke & sons fan game. The style is just so simple and vibrant, and the plasticy, sometimes futuristic look is just so iconic.

To touch on what you said near the beginning of the video, I think Springtrap, and the withered animatronics from FNAF 2 are peak Scott charm! He combines the chunky awkwardness of his models and pushes it to the scariest they can be by ripping them up and making them filthy. They are arguably the most iconic in the franchise! They are truly horrific, and I think they represent the scary parts of FNAF the best! I don't know if that charm can be captured in any other FNAF character in the future...

If mendo were too come back there are 3 options. Option 1: as a small reference Option 2: as a animatronic that can sell you things like FNAF world and 3 Option 3:as a animatronic that can kill. But I think that ends would not return because fnaf world is mostly forgotten but maybe

It seems like Lolbit and DeeDee aswell as Mendo are a good trio, they are all essentially "Recolors" of other characters. Yes, Mendo has some features differentiating it from the Endo's but still. DeeDee, when introduced in UCN is basically a troll that adds more "problems to your night". Lolbit, when introduced in Sister Location is practically a death screen or a distraction (You literally have to type L-O-L to get their stupid screen off.) This makes me wonder, what would Mendo have done if it was in one of the games? Easter egg or not I feel like it was meant to connect to DeeDee and Lolbits distraction roles, so perhaps it would do something similar? Something to be an absolute problem as the game goes on, because that would make sense - It would be good usage of its character.

Well in The Joy Of Creation there are some different endos, but I would've like that Scott added more of them in the official games. Sadly he ended making fnafs because he has a family and needs to take care of them 😔
