It’s worth to mention the break in period takes a while. I got the 80 evo and didn’t like them in the beginning due to me thinking they were broken in and that sound was what it was. After having them for 3 months and fully broken in MAN they hit!!!!!

Great video as always. Mine arrived yesterday from Gear4Music here in the UK and everything you said about them in your video is 100% true! Had the Alpha 50 Evo, then the 65, but these are something else. And you’re right about them being a ‘good looking speaker’ too. A real bargain!

Great review! I got the Alpha Twin's recently and absolutely love them. I went from some old (but very much loved) Event BAS 20/20's w/ 8" cones and thought I'd be loosing bass with the 6.5" Focals. I was wrong- they somehow produce WAY more bass and are even flatter. Some of the most beautifully designed studio monitors ever too IMO. I love the blue Slatefiber membrane cones and overall design. Because they're Alpha Twins and WIDE I'm able to put my computer monitors on them. Super nice👌

Focal makes the best speakers hands down. Had the the trio down graded to alpha 80s and they are still superb

*Focal in my opinion has always been top end for studios and mixing in production, standby saves your power consumption and amplifier lifespan* Also if you left your hat near me Bolo, I would peel off those stickers ASAP 🤪

I use Focal and Audeze headphones. Over $1000 a piece! Everyone in the industry tells me Focal is the way to go on speakers tho, you can easily spend $15000+ with that brand.

I've been researching these for a while now...not many "credible" reviews on them... Your review seems pretty straightforward... since I won't be immediately using a sub... MY concern was "Will these give enough bass response" so that I won't be disappointed....besides the fact of "sounding good" overall.... These have less bass then 8s in my room. Different rooms will give a different bass response. However you can boost the bass in them. I generally hear the deep bass around 8 ft feet away.

Man, I've this exact decision to make now. I've used previous gen KRK many years for DJ mixes and listening to vinyl or movies from 3m away and they really do move a lot of air with enough precision, they are not fatiguing too. Great for casual listening and really bring the thunder when played loud. The hiss isn't bothering me from that far away. Though after hearing Focal Evo Twins today I must say, they sound better. Very clean, tight, brighter then KRK, but most importantly the spacial imaging is superb. I than compered them side by side with Adam AX 7s and those sounded horrible in comparison. I get why some people like Adams, they are very strong in the mids and highs revealing mistakes... in every song. Hardly any song is perfectly mixed and you will hear that and it will bother you when listening casually, oh and the bass is weak on them, slightly boomy too, disapointing really. So yeah, I think I want to sacrifice the massive low end of KRKs for the Focals... Or I could wait for Bitcoin to pop and get the Trio 11s with a huge pack of tissues to relisten to my entire music collection crying and jizzing all over the studio.
