This seems simple but it’s an awesome exercise and it really does open things up, this is how beginners start making friends with the fretboard (I’m a noob too.) I’ve been building this into my routine and play those double stops as a warm up. Thanks Mr. Rick.

These exercises are really taking my pickin to the next level...thank you!!! / Why do you do the 1 2 Alt 2 on the first bit of the foggy mountain role instead of a 1-2-1-2?

Hell yeah Eric, I'm glad you found them. That alt 2 roll is done for a few reasons, 1. That's how Earl did it 2. Thumb = king of tone 3. Alternating your fingers lets you play faster
