This actually looks sick! I returned to Dusk on my steam deck the other day and it surprisingly works well on that format. Hopefully they bring this game to the deck as well!

I enjoy the retro throwback shooters. They're my primary go to subgenre as far as indie games go! Knowing that Chop Goblins was done by the same guy who made DUSK I was eager to give Chop Goblins a go at some point and I played through it a day ago from writing this comment and hunted for achievement after achievement until unlocking all 13 achievements that same day making it my 25th and newest game on Steam to set foot on my Perfect Games list. Nice video btw!

Being able to use the same gib effect that he made for the goblins definitely helped it look a lot more believable.

I suppose you never played Serious Sam given that you mentioned all those other games and not it. It's a lot more like Serious Sam than those, with the whole time travel thing and it being a whacky run and gun bullethose FPS.

"Vaporwave Greece" especially reminds me of the bright, shiny Aztec and Egyptian level design in Sam and Sam 2.

It's a follow-up in the sense that it's the developer's next project. I didn't call it a sequel or anything. The only real comparison I made between the two is examining the cultural impact / staying power. It'll be hard to top how big Iron Lung got on youtube last year. Both solid games though. Looking forward to his next project, whatever it may be.
