It all comes down to one thing, are you happy, if yes then you did good. I use to get a few of these but decided I don’t have an audiophile type system so I’m not getting the whole experience. Also I could buy more albums with the money saved lol. Glad you enjoyed yours.

@@stevecarlsonvinylcommunity9147 thanks Steve! I don’t plan on making this regular thing but curiosity got the better of me!

Super cool to hear your impressions from a non-audiophile (like myself) standpoint. As far as whether it's worth it or not, I think the value lies not in the technical specs, but in your love of the album. If owning it makes you happy, then it's worth every penny!

@@CivilGoreTim thank you Tim! And I completely agree with you 100%

The number on the box doesnt mean you got a record from the first stamper. They dont match boxes to the actual number of the record. They just take any record and put it in any box, or at least thats what Ive heard from other reviewers.
@spindoctorandhisvinylmayhemАй бұрын
@@mblazer4004 I mean honestly I don’t believe that any of the numbered editions are really the numbers they say they are actually. It just sounds nice!

Why not the cheaper and better Acoustic Production/Doug Sax from 2012? Still available for $60.

Good question. A couple reasons I guess, 1 I wanted to try out the UHQR thing. 2, I really like 33 compared to 45, I know that’s weak but 45 just seems like a waste of wax to me. I guess you could say the same about the extra money I spent too though!

FOMO has gotten me a few times in the past. Mainly due to retirement those days are behind me now. UHQR have never interested me.

@@vinylrichie007 FOMO has really only gotten me a couple times, I swore I would never get a UHQR but I love the Doors so they got me on this one. Had it been a 45rpm however I would not have been so tempted.

Just don’t be like the rest of us and buy more UHQR’s than we need 🤣

These UHQR records are way over priced. As long as people buy them the price will keep going up. Stay Away.
@spindoctorandhisvinylmayhemАй бұрын
I think there is a little more to it then that but I would tend to agree with you for the most part.

More to it? Blue Note just released Sonny Rollins at the Village Vanguard. Its three records not two. It has a Tip-On jacket and booklet just like the UHQR. Mastered by Kevin Gray and pressed at RTI. Original photos were used for the cover also. Its not on Clarity vinyl, but Clarity vinyl is cheaper than black vinyl and you get three records. The only thing it doesn't have is a box that noone wants. All that for $73 not $150 proves my point. Chad use to charge $100 for the UHQR but jacked the price up because they were selling. Also he is the king of pushing the FOMO. His favorite saying is "buy now or cry later." I have been buying records my whole life and have never heard a record company owner ever say anything like that. Stay Away !!

Sadly your first UHQR happens to be the worst and least effective UHQR treatment at Analogue Productions have released so far. The White Stripes was excellent as were the two Hendrix releases too if that's your bag. LA Woman UHQR is underwhelming but don't let that put you off.
@spindoctorandhisvinylmayhemАй бұрын
I guess because I have no other ones to compare it to it’s hard for me to say. I liked it! I understand why others would say it’s not as good as others though.
@crimsondonkeywg3082Ай бұрын
@@spindoctorandhisvinylmayhem Well its not bad per se, just disappointing. My ears prefer the greater dynamics and more balanced emphasis on all the instruments in the arrangements that the Analogue Productions own 45RPM 2012 edition does for half the cost (yes I own both)
