David and Trevor legitimately had me yelling out loud. I haven't reacted like that to cardistry in a long time. My girlfriend came in from the other room looking very confused.

That floating or suspended spring is one of my favorite moves ever. It’s just so visually satisfying. Idk how he even conceptualized it was possible. I know Melcalco does a similar move suspending a waterfall on his shirt. Might only be Ike 1 second each but both those moves are dope af

random thoughts that literally no one asked for but that I'm sharing anyway lol (take w/ grain of salt) Dom's cuts are so smart, aside from that one awkward looking (to me) regrip on the third move, however if you're gonna go with all packet cuts against people who are using a wide array of genres, it can feel a bit flat by comparison even when it's incredible on it's own. So idk if the answer would be to somehow make each packet cut stand out more/have more 'moments' or just make other types of moves too for a comp like this, but it just felt like it needed something more to be able to compete. Andrew I think a lot of your stuff is genius and it's really cool that you go against the grain to make more minimal stuff, but for this round I felt like the first two moves were just kinda meh, so for me your video really picked up on the third move but then I was really sad when the 6 of clubs in the 5th move didn't go the other way to the top of the deck to continue it's motion on the opposite side, which I expected from the other move where the single card traces the outlines of the other packets, and the cube thing just reminded me of trevor's cube thing but without all the dope mechanics and motion, just never really got very exciting for me in this round but I loved your other rounds and your style in general! David, that first move is HELLA NASTYYYY, like?!??!? Also I can't believe you and trevor were SO on the same page 😂 that's wild. I have to give the slight edge to you though on that one cause you got it to stay without holding it in place and had the extra domino fall at the end that really just completed it. One issue I had though was that after the spring stop (which made me scream) several of your other moves felt a little theoretical still, like I can understand intentionally not having a closer for a move (like the first move! perfect example, good reason not to have a closer), but somehow the others didn't feel super intentional to me? more like you were still figuring out where to go from that position or perhaps saving those closers for later? Also a small nit pick but I felt like your higher intensity moves were towards the beginning and lower at the back but that's not really too big a deal. I will say though, even the stuff that felt a little unfinished was still pretty damn fire. So, issues included, I still really loved this round from you! Sam, I feel like you're really treating this like a proper battle! really going for the jugular with those 1-ups >.> First move reminds me of that thing Matt Fox did in round 1 that I really loved but w/o the second spin to connect things :/, although I don't understand how you handle the cards with such inherent swag, like carter does too but in your own way, you could do an objectively bad move and I'd still enjoy watching it lol. That aces thing was fuckin aces... did NOT see that coming so I hooted and hollered a bit, but even more so after you fired live rounds at carter with that 4th move, shots at everyone on planet earth with that 5th move, shots at trevor with the 6th move, two more shots at carter in a row, a single shot at david although he has such high resistance to spread attacks that it barely did anything despite you rolling an 18 :p, and shots at andrew to finish things off... whew... just curious why no shots fired at dom specifically tho? Carter, your flow is unrivaled in this competition at least. I also really love how you can take disparate motions and make them actually *feel* connected and all working towards a larger purpose. Your fourth move is, in my opinion, the best move of the whole competition so far. You're one of the only people out there playing with BIG moves, and by that I don't mean a lot of packets, but rather, extreme space between the packets that are there and you do it fuckin beautifully *chefs kiss*. Also to nit pick the same way I did with David, it did seem like your video lost a little intensity towards the end which maybe could have been fixed by having move #4 at or near the end, but eh, the moves themselves matter more to me than the ebb/flow of the video. All in all, your stuff is super infectious and distinct, it just burns itself into my brain and I can't help but walk away still thinking about how you made the cards move, even after seeing other people's high impact moves right after, your stuff just sticks in my brain. Trevor you're obviously a genius when it comes to mechanics, so it makes it easy to forgive a bit of choppiness in your flow, those first three moves just absolutely knocked it out of the park, but the dual fan circle thing (to me) just looks really sloppy and not too appealing although conceptually I do like the idea! that moment though when you slid your thumb across the back of the deck as if it was square when it was still a mess hahaha couldn't tell if you meant to make us laugh or cringe but I did both :p That fan wheel thing is super sick though, even if I liked David's version just 0.5% more, I do wonder if perhaps that's only because I saw it first so yours may have felt slightly less impactful? (I try to avoid that bias by being aware of it but no one can 100% avoid bias, so) either way just such a brilliant move. And then you just had to go and make things harder on the judges with that birger style OH, one of the most original moves I've seen in a whiiiiile, and the last one where you built on that concept from before. I thought I already knew who my two votes were and then you did your thing, so... Y'all killed it, and I hope it's clear to everyone that I don't actually think I'm better than any of you just because I can spot something I'd change in your stuff lol, analyzing other people's moves is always easier than analyzing your own 😉but I hope there's something valuable in my feedback for you and if not, well, y'all still fuckin killed it lol

Dom at it with his simple, smooth, intuitive, genius cuts. Andrew is just De’vo with a mask, I’m calling it. David’s cards are holograms obviously. Spratt with his vibes. Best editing of the comp, really. Oh, and the moves were pretty good too. And that Trev 1-up tho. Carter not only killed all of us, but killed someone irl too. The wavy move around the middle is just him flexing his shanking skills. TREEEVVOR! I personally chose Lance as the wild card, but I’m kinda glad you were chosen instead. Fucking insane. How long have you been saving these for?! Spratt VS Everyone, let’s go, looking forward to it.

✏️This is my personal opinion, I respect all cardists and they are so much skillful than me: Dom Corrado - Being one of the OGs, doing pure packet cuts in this type of competition is really hard to win, because although it has a great flow, there is no specific highlight that attracts the eye. Andrew Avila - Still keeping the minimalism style and doing "simple" yet clever moves. However, most of the moves seems unfinished although the ideas are very good. I know Avila has some insane flourishes. (see WKC final against Jaspas) But I think he is holding back too much. David Tsimbal - The Ripple 360 fan is truly insane!! Although it takes up around 30% of the entire video, but it is worth it! Also keeping the production, spreads, fans going and is marching strong!!! Definitely a seriously impressive cardist. Samuel Pratt - The "GOD" of cardistry. It seems like there is nothing he cannot do!! He LITERALLY did a variation for each of the contestants, showing that he is well rounded. I'm excited what he will do at the final round. Carter MacDiarmid - Loving the casual yet cool looking styles!!! There are a lot of flaring going on and a lot of flips and tosses. I enjoyed his flourish because it seems like there is a rhythm for each flourish. Keep it going! Trevor Aguiar - Though appeared in many jam videos, I rarely seen him performing or even competing! These battles have shocked me because now I know how good a cardist he is! Just like David, he used the ripple and did a 360 fan but he also did a 360 fan with a faro!! DAMN!!! 💔I FEEL SINCERELY SORRY FOR THE JUDGES FOR JUDGING SUCH A TOUCH COMPETITION!
