Through my year of growing and foraging 100% of my food and 5+ years of visiting with dozens of gardeners and permaculturists across the state of Florida, I have created a grouping of the 30 easiest and most abundant foods to grow in Florida.
This grouping of plants is ideal for laying the foundation for a food forest or creating The Survival Garden. We’re talking about growing a lot of food, with the least work, so you can truly break free from the grocery store!

Many of you are requesting a bundle outside of the Florida region.
It is very much a possibility that we create a bundle for regions with winter including the midwest, northeast, middle Atlantic and possibly other regions in 2024 or 2025. If you'd like a notification if we create a bundle, please fill out the form on the Food Forest Starter Bundle Website where it says "Located outside of zones 8-11 and interested in a bundle? Fill out our notification form here."

I have grown and own all of these plants in my food forest and can say you did an absolutely amazing job of picking the best things to grow. You are such a great person to even think about doing this. This will save someone years of time, I wish I had this resource starting years ago! Keep up the great, inspirational work! Can't wait for others to find abundance and the joy of growing EASY things! People, these things are hard to kill- if you have a "brown thumb" I can tell you that this is the best way to get into gardening.

For those not in Florida, you might be able to get free cuttings and seeds and such from a local seed swap event, or even a seed library (at a book library, or elsewhere). In Maine, for example, MOFGA has an annual seed and scion swap in the spring (or late winter?) that has a vast abundance of free plants for the local area. There are also some libraries that give out seeds in the spring (Waterville is one I know of currently). If you don't have a local seed swap or library, consider organizing one!

I read your article on veganism and why are you down longer a vegan. I found it very informative and thought-provoking. My struggles to change the way I live and eat I do to the fact that I had cancer two years ago. My health is very important. My desire is to learn how to grow my own food and raise my own animals. I see the animals as a help in the fertility of the land. They also provide direct nutrition. I believe you were right everything must be down in balance. I will be buying a bundle so that I can start a garden in my backyard. I have followed your channel for years and I’m fascinated by what you’ve accomplished.

Great work. And the best part is we don’t have to move off grid or to rural to live a natural life. I’ve thought about doing something like this for my neighborhood because like most communities we need to plant more shade trees and convert our wasteful lawns and backyards to permaculture food forest gardens landscapes with perennial drought and heat tolerant plants to provide shade and food year long for our family, friends and neighbors.

Hi Rob. I think what you're doing is Awesome! If you put together another package, i have some ideas to help people get through the winter. As you know, the scarcest months for harvests are Dec - April. to get through this period, i would suggest the following three staples: Potatoes, Winter Squash, and Fava Beans. the 3 of those can all be stored for long periods of times and so are ideal. Anyways, that's what I'm growing next year!
