These bears are usually held in terrible condition, in cages so small they literally can't move even a one bit. Also there are tubes put into their abdomen to harvest their bile (which they are primarily kept for). Sometimes their limbs would be cut off and sold as a luxury meat while they are still alive. Even when the farms are discovered and the bears rescued, lot of them doesn't survive or are forever crippled/traumatized. They are suffering here because of traditional medicine and it's use for bear bile. It's terrifying.

Is it just me or do the younger the people the more they pay attention?
@amokriinprolgiid34095 жыл бұрын
That's often true with a lot of things. Primarily because the adults are more focused on their own tasks, whereas kids have the freedom of mind to pay attention to their environment more. When an adult goes to the subway (this looked like a Subway), their minds are occupied with where they're going and not where they are. With kids, their minds are more interested with what's in front of them.
@nevaehday71795 жыл бұрын
Definitely. The kids take their time to really process what they're looking at and you can tell by how they turn around and linger for a while before running to catch up with their parents

Doesnt stop it from being a terrible way to get the message across. It's like if I were trying to advocate against abuse towards children by sitting in a busy shopping centre and slowly draw a picture of a child crying, and then call everyone terrible for not noticing, when they are at their busiest, it is just a way to guilt people and make them feel bad, it may help the cause but it makes more people feel worse when they had no need to be. You always have better results when the people backing you dont feel terrible.
@TheClearSummer3 жыл бұрын
@@s.c.o.s4672 To some extent, making people feel a little uncomfortable is important in helping them take action. We don't like to feel bad about ourselves, so when we are challenged in this way, it prompts us to think and reflect in a way that might benefit the cause. Even if you didn't stop to scan the code, if it made you feel a little uncomfortable and guilty, you would at least spent some time thinking about the message, and that's also important because they might take action elsewhere when they have time. Even though, for example, you've taken issue with the way the message is presented, it got you to think about what you're doing and to spend time on it. And that's something you're going to be aware of from now on, even if you ultimately decide not to take action. The way I see it, these kinds of messages are designed to make you think about what you can do better, not necessarily something as extreme as 'you're a terrible person'. I hope you're doing OK and not getting too upset thinking about the fact that you might have been one of those people who didn't stop. You know your own goodness better than anyone, and you don't need a poster to make you feel concerned otherwise :)
@ehm.toasting3 жыл бұрын
@@TheClearSummer well first of all, there are other, far more profitable and easier ways to make people feel guilty or sympathetic towards a cause. The internet, as everyone knows, is a good example. They blame these people who may be late for work or rushing home when they've put this up in a spot full of others mostly rushing to work and school, or back home. It's good to spread and be aware of everything around you, but by taping it up in the center of traffic where people walk past it not because they don't care, but because they've clearly put it there purposely to get this sort of reaction, is kind of cruel. I understand it's for the video's purpose, but that makes it seem as if these people didnt care either. I'm sure if they saw this video when they get home, most would react the same way everyone here is doing, and think, and perhaps take action towards this cause. Let's say you were maybe trying your best to make ends meet and pay your bills, and get home to your children. Or you've already been late for school because of multiple things you couldn't have escaped from, and want to get on the next train. Or you've just gone shopping and you're carrying heavy groceries. Even as simple as you were tired and couldn't wait to meet up with your friends. Would you have stopped too? I know most people wouldn't. Not because they don't care, as I said, or because they thought themselves too busy for this sort of stuff or thought they couldn't help, but because everyone each owns their own life, and in a subway station, you ride a train more so to get to where you're going, and less to enjoy ground scenery. Honestly, I would've mistaken it for just a picture someone graffiti-ed onto the pavement. That's why the internet and many other ways are do important in helping others spread awareness, and in taking action. Not something silly like this. Although this does make a good video and spread a good message (only from this video), the people there irl must be seen as sorta moronic for not stopping and paying attention, which i kind of feel bad for.

That human who patted the bear picture is very wholesome. I wish we had more wholesome humans of our population.

It is amazing to see how many do and do not care. The amount that don't care makes me sad.

Idea is OK, but the execution is rather ineffective. Why? Because people only see the effect AFTER the bars show up, and before that no one would bat an eye. So they got impressed by the image itself, not how it turns from original to the final for they can not see it all. So I think putting the final image there would get the same result.
@starmario152497 жыл бұрын
yeah i agree the idea is nice. Perhaps those who didn't see the effect before might come back and see it again because it's at a subway station, people might be working/schooling nearby and take the public transport daily to that area.

Can people please stop acting like the people walking over it are “part of the problem” somehow, I assume people who say this have never had to be somewhere before, the last thing you give a shit about is a poster.
