A simple drill to help get you acclimated to movement. This is from my Beginner’s Pistol Course. Yes, that’s Chris Costa, and he was attending my class because that’s what invested instructors do. They seek to learn from other teachers. I’d like to do it more myself.

@@onpsxmember yes but my problems is budget im not poor but i dont have money to join these group and beside that, its very difficult to bring your fire arm outside if you dont have PTCFOR and its not for evey one unless you apply for ptt.thats why some gun owners rent fire arms from gun range to practise.

Pat - not only a great shooting instructor, but also (at the same very moment) teaches you how to dance a waltz ;) (ok.. some simpler "triangle" version of it, instead of "square")

C'mon guys The footstep drill... basic dude stuff!! J/K!! Pat you make that look easy! I think I'd practice about a 1000 times with dry fire before I went live... Many thanks for all of this priceless content!! The Chinese calendar says this is the year of the Tiger.... I say this is the Year of Pat Mac!

Pat: take a snapshot, especially to the rear because the ground isn’t always flat. Pat: also think inverted triangle. Everyone: only looking at cardboard panel and making random figurines in the sand with their feet.

Thankfully, there are channels like this that give useful and thoughtful guidance based on REAL experience.....unlike most gun/defense channels that are nothing but pandering garbage by people who took a class or two (or none) or are getting paid by manufacturers to shill, and think they are experts. See Mrgunsnshill, MAC, etc etc.

That simple push-plant-pull phrasing was perfect for my brain. It's a relatively simple concept, and something I've heard put about a half dozen other ways before but this version was exactly what my brain needing to simplify and execute. Now to practice to unconscious competency and then add live fire! Thanks for the nuggets of wisdom!

Like that drill teaches dragging of feet as well, as it's fast and prevents falling, whereas taking a step could cause a fall. This works even for that's all fat hillbillies. Falling, that could actually happen though,.and then it would be a good idea to know what to do if it did happen. How to shoot from the fallen position, move to cover and work your way back into the action. Remember as a kid they taught tumbling class how to fall and roll up onto one knee. Probably something they teach in special Forces. Could be scary in real life teaching! Maybe something where you could leave the gun on the ground, roll over to it pick it up and fire. Pat, you're teaching style is amazing. Thanks for sharing.

It's always amazing how just adding a little bit of movement causes everything to go to sideways. People are really good at shooting when standing still, but a lot of us never train moving and shooting.

Someone needs to police their range. Also, have you tried taking that snapshot by looking slightly down? Years ago I was on PSD and was taught that you get a little more peripheral vision with your chin pointed slightly down than you do just looking straight over your shoulder.
