Pat, I don't know how YT got me here but I'm glad. I've seen your pistol tips and recently went to the range and tried them out and boy! I improved immediately! Seeing your small mistakes also helped me to see that it can happen to the best of us and keeping a good attitude toward that 1 thrown shot is something I want to imitate. I tended to really get on myself for that 1 shot outside the circle rather than looking at the several within the circle so seeing your example with pistol training is helping tons! Thanks!!

Picking the flowers from the strawbs prevents the plant from putting valuable energy in maintaining the flower, and with the flower picked, the plant can now channel its energy to important leaves for photosythesis and of course the fruit!

This was excellent. Thank you for explaining the benefits of blanching. Most videos fail to explain this.

I’ve watched your left hand as it engages the pistol, it’s a curl, index and middle and then ring and pinky…helped me a lot as I was grabbing with my support hand, causing inconsistencies. Great content.

I will say the scariest part of flying with a firearm is being re-routed to Chicago or New York and finding out you have an overnight layover.

I always look around, I'm just not obviously looking around. My Grandfather taught me to look around, listen, breathe, and maintain mental stability. Anywhere I am, I move through that setting as if I am at home. That is to say, I don't want to look like a tourist. I make eye contact with people to let them know I see you and I am comfortable. I walk confidently, not like prey trying to avoid the predators. I don't do it in a challenging way unless I think they are targeting me and moving in. I always look for my escape route, whether driving, walking, or riding on something. A lot of that comes from riding/racing motorcycles. What's my escape if a crash occurs. Now, it's what's my escape if something goes down. The same goes for target fixation. I first learned about the concept from a friend's Dad who was a WWII fighter pilot. I applied it to motorcycle racing/riding, and now have generalized it to my life. Neither my wife or myself are hooked to our phones, if one has to use a phone, the other watches what is going on. When I pull the cars out of the garage, I take a quick look on the security cameras, but really, the dogs would have let me know if anyone was nearby. My wife pulls up the security cameras before she goes into work because there have been some issues with homeless people on their property. She pulls up in a way that allows her to exit if there are people in the parking lot who shouldn't be there. She will drive down the street and call the PD. I've also worked with my wife on using her vehicle to escape/evade/attack if something goes down in traffic. She has a Jeep and I have a truck, both of which are bumpered up. It was eye opening to her when she understood how her Jeep can be driven over curbs, meridians, hedges, et al, or punch another vehicle and be able to drive off and escape

This was a good video. Do you recommend any resources for drawing from concealment at 3 o'clock? I know that appendix is faster from standing, but it's not really practical for me while driving. My muscle memory and speed are pretty much there. The main issue that I have in drills is clearing the garment for a clean draw. It doesn't happen often at all, but I would prefer to get occurrences down as much as possible. Any tips will be appreciated.

Thank you for the old school way. I hear people always say “Don’t use WD40 to lube with! And it doesn’t protect!” Then act like the seas will boil over and the moon will crash into the earth. I guess they don’t listen. You don’t lube with WD40. It’s fine to clean with. In fact, it works great. Then you FOLLOW UP with oil to lube. My grandfather and my dad always used it to clean their guns all the time then used lube afterwards. Their guns always ran like a scalded dog!

True story....a couple of years ago I was the first responder on a car wreck. We were in my wife's new car and I failed to transfer the med kit I usually keep in there. Long story short, I needed to tourniquet the leg of a lady and ended up using a rusty wrench and part of a tie down strap. She was morbidly obese and on blood thinners. She lived.

You’ve been very inspirational to me! I used to workout a lot when I was younger. Then as I was working 2 jobs, raising a family and blah blah blah, I slacked off on it and even stopped. When I turned 50, all that laziness of not working out or just taking care of myself, it caught up with me. I was 230 lbs. But not muscle at all. I was tired all the time. I wound up with type 2 diabetes. High blood pressure. I was in a terrible way. After 4 years of feeling sorry for myself, one day I said “ENOUGH!!” I first started with my diet. I started becoming active again. Even just starting out with brisk walks, easy runs, calisthenics, basic dumbbell and barbell exercises. Finding things around the house to lift and exercise with. Now I’m QUICKLY knocking on the door of my 60th birthday and I reversed my diabetes. I breath better. I’m stronger and feel better now than I did in my 40’s. I have advanced CIPD (a neurological disorder) that does have an effect on me. But I don’t stop!
