My favorite thing for the force great swords is to combo "Warp Rider" and "Unstable Power" with Scrier's Gaze and Riposte. Getting yourself up to 100% peril with Riposte active means you can demolish damn near any enemy with the warp slice at max charge and at close range. Shotgun and Gunner patrol's have never been so easy

Top notch work, as always! I absolutely LOVE the Mk VIII, it's now my favorite weapon in the game. I've heard a lot of negativity about the force greatswords, and all I can say is those people must be crazy, because this thing rules.

I have not used anything else since I got them - apart from my Deimos if my build requires more mobility! Brought them into Havoc 40 and it can hold its ground to support my team with horde clear, cc, and Elite killing!

For the Mk6 horde clear if you do the push into light sweep the following heavy is a sweep that leads into back to light 1. I find it very handy when I get knocked out of rhythm to just push L H back to L L L H chain or just push L H loop if it's going really bad till the special is charged to punch a hole out to some space. Edit: Yeh I VERY much appreciate the attack cards when you're talking about attack combos. I am an Ogryn at heart and brain. Have an up doot.

Controversial opinion: I use heavy 1 > light 2 for the mk8 because it feels meaty and satisfying. I know for a fact it has slower horde clear but the stagger that heavy 1 has helped me in situations where I'm low on stamina and/or dodges. Heavy 1 can also one shot dreg shooters, scab stalkers, and scab bruisers to the head.

In my experience, the second there's anything heavier than shooters/stalkers/bruisers in a horde, it's time to whip out the heavy attacks if only for the additional stagger. The Light 1 -> Light 2 -> Block Cancel works wonderfully on the MKVIII, but it basically bounces off of ragers and other elites. So I don't think you're wrong for using H1 -> L2 -> Repeat, I just don't think it's the best combo to use all the time.

I use the force cleave as a "distance push" utility for its massive staggering force. Such as a dog on your teammate that you can reach and your magic is blocked by a sea of mobs; Stopping a bunch of berserkers that are getting too close; Or hauling a pox bomber on its track. Murderous Tranq also has some utility. For example, if you are swamped and relying on smite to buy the team some time. Murderous Tranq can quell for you while you are defending yourself. Yes, you can use Crack of Bone talent instead, but that may cost you 1-3 points of talent, which is your choice. I love your data; it helps me so much to further my understanding of the FGS. Thank your. Btw, I was trying the pistol bleed+smite combo and found it lackluster. But your bleed pistol + force cleave is really viable.

A crit blaze build on this has felt so good the past week. FYI landing a crit activates the Empathic Evasion node. Which triggers the Repost Blessing. So if you land a crit you land 20% more crits. Edit: I tested it again. Only counts if being shot at.

mk6 doing a heavy after the uppercut from bottom left to to top right does the only cleave heavy in the heavy chain, very useful because it replaces the lowest cleave attack (strike down) in the light chain

The weapon switch cancel adding another move to the set is cool. But I wish it benefited you more intead of adding another move for you to get around when you try to do strikedown heavies on the mark 8.

Awesome video! I know its a bit much but did you do any research with warp rider and disrupt destiny? Also do you know if the quick-swap force cleave procs any other talents like infernus, point blank, scattershot, flecette etc...

For anything Talent related, I have my calculator do the work for me and I know where on the equilibrium see-saw buffs will be helpful. For the other blessings... I suppose I could sitdown and check the interactions :)

I found that for the mk8, light-light-Block cancel works better than going through the whole chain. It's a fun weapon even if OP Dueling Sword Mk4 is generally better when running staff psyker

Damnation! I'm working on a calculator to consider Havoc buffs but still tweaking it to make it legible... High Havoc can often have very many variables that makes figuring breakpoints more... complicated and applicable too (too much chaos and messiness for consistency!)

Yeah I still use illisi on my surge build. Not a fan of these weapons but they are good with a gun psyker and scriers. I never play gun psyker though so doesnt matter to me.

Compared to some other options *cough* Dueling swords *cough*, the Greatswords aren't going to be at the top of the list simply because of mobility alone - in higher difficulty games, mobility is so strong that most of the time that I go down trying to fight, its because I've run out of space and can't create enough of it fast enough :x But you're right - they are cool! And that alone is reason enough to use them haha
