This was an outstanding review! Aside from the fact that you’re a natural speaker, you answered every question that I had. I’m in my mid 60s, I don’t do the “hard core” downhill riding anymore, but I do gravel bikepack and still some tame single track. I really like these Smith helmets….and my old bike helmet is, well….old. I’m retired military and retired federal LEO. In both careers, I’ve had my physical challenges and “accidents”….from a Navy aircraft accident in the late 1970s….to affecting arrests….falls while rock scrambling….and training on the mats. I promised my wife I would upgrade to a more modern helmet that includes MIPS. Hey….you live only so long, and while I can control “me”, I can’t control the idiots in cars looking at their iPhones, Nav screens, checking their makeup…etc etc etc. And to be honest, I don’t need another head injury….I’d rather not “check out” when that time inevitably comes, not knowing who the hell I am….so, I think, amigo, you just sold me. Hopefully I can find one that’s not teal, violet, pink…..anyway, Bravo-Zulu, well done on a useful video. Ride safe, brother….be well.

Worth noting that Smith has deep discounts on both helmets and eye protection for veterans. It's not super easy to figure out, but I got a few things at 50% off.

@@ExtremeSquared Thank you much! I much appreciate that. Too many times, over the years, I paid full price only to find out later that the company offered a military discount. While I don’t expect them…..I always appreciate them. Again, thank you much for taking the time to let me know.
