Each year, 10,000 young people from all over the world come to the Aubagne Foreign Legion Selection and Induction Center. Only 10% will pass the entrance tests. The American Lim, the Malagasy Vaifana, the French Liénart and Revel hope to be part of this elite troop. At the same time, a few kilometers from Sper Kunday, in Afghanistan, 250 legionnaires hold an advanced combat post surrounded by insurgents. Harassment is daily...

@@jmr5792 left paras about 2 & a half years ago now and he been in para regiment of legion for a year. There is a few Brits but they come from all countrys. It not necessary to speak French as the instructors speak pretty good English anyway.

I am not surprised in the least that the only person who stayed in the pacer running test (11:17) the longest is the American, Lim. It's required for us in American middle and high school physical education classes to do pacer tests and mile runs every week.

Content pour le petit Vafaina qui méritait ce képi blanc car il a un courage de fou. Ça aurait été dommage de ne pas y arriver juste à la fin alors qu'il a montré une force de caractère énorme !!! Pour Lim, quel gâchis car il aurait pu intégrer la légion étrangère sans problème, si simplement il n'était pas si bagarreur. My uncle served in Indo-China (Vietnam). He came back with heavy malaria and his body full with shell fragments.. But he was proud to be a legionair and the Legion did never forget him, for medical care and a good pension. At the end he died because of the malaria infection.

Bravo au Caporal Chef en 3 ans d'école militaire et tout paticulièrement de sous oficiers j'ai rencontré beaucoup de chefs qui lui ressemblait avant d'etre moi meme sous officiers.Un bémol le manque de cohésion et la compétition au maximum entre les différents soldats tout grades confondus.Sergent Yves BONNARD.

What i admire about the French Foreign Legion besides their illustrious history and their fighting capabilities is how quickly their recruits learn French. Trainees can learn it from 1 month to a year. From zero french to rudimentary in a year is amazing.

Personally I would never have an officer like that as a commander ... you have to be good soldiers but sometimes human too ... This is my opinion.

If someone had frostbite and couldn't feel their limbs, the last thing I'd want to do it move them around and touch them a lot when I'm not trained to do so. That officer did what he could

I was just in swiss army, but caporal-chef Ordon reminds me on my sergeant-major, little mean guy :)) Il semble que colonel Durieux a une trés bon manière comme il "deal" avec le locals, trés diplomatique mais aussi trés forte et consequent. Quand même je ne pense pas que ca ne rime a rien le engagement à Afghanistan, mais c'est une autre sujet.
