Makes me wonder: suppose the spider had found her half-dead and mostly eaten up by other spiders, then “helped” her by linking up with her, effectively making some kind of symbiosis between the two. Just a theory of mine that keeps me from thinking of the possibility that she’s fully dead/“possessed” by the spider.

Her story is probably as sad as that of the spider boy in the game Don‘t Starve. A spider ate him and didn‘t manage to swallow. They lived fused together ever since. Honestly, I didn't feel any fear, just shock because I thought I knew what was coming. And then sadness when I was right. Imagine being that father. The most difficult thing any parent can ever face is losing their child, but imagine losing them, then losing your legs and nearly dying from searching desperately through a very dangerous hell hole to find them... and then finding them a decade later... like this. Your sanity would likely disappear forever in that one single moment.

Only halfway through but i like this old guy. An old fashioned type of guy AND kind, that's rare to see. None of that toxic playing chicken that men and boys are taught to do, in any other story i feel like he would have pressured the mc to go further. It's nice to hear him be chill about the mc being gay, but it's also really nice to hear him check in with mc to see if he wants to go back. I feel like i would be a lot more comfortable with bugs if the men around me had been like him growing up. 10/10 gramps

Plus the fact that it was never brought up again kinda made me happy? It showed that the author really had no intention on making the fact that the main character gay his main trait. It was added to the story for a little closure on his past & a tiny bit of comic relief and that's all! That was interesting, intense, creepy af, sad, and amazing throughout. I have severe arachnophobia, but I managed to reach the end. Lucy becoming a Drider (or Spider centaur as she called it) was definitely an interesting plot twist. I had a feeling they'd see her, but I assumed she'd either be a corpse or a hallucination of some kind (possibly created by a spider with supernatural powers), so that was definitely a welcoming surprise. What I don't quite understand is how the Squirrel and Lucy ended up as spider hybrids. Granted, nothing about the forest seemed to make sense, though I have some theories, ranging from some supernatural/otherworldly force to some geneticist/scientist creating it and then going insane, with all options having an explanation of some kind for the spider hybrids.

The voice acting really incredible too, loved the accent you put on him! And the music!!! I really love all the attention to detail in this one video, the whole thing is so charming. I love how the music really underlined the sadness that was in the story as well, like it wasnt just purely scary and creepy, it was also emotional. (The voice acting was also spot on with emotion) The icing on the cake for me is really just the fact that you MADE the music, only to put it in the background of your narrations. It's so obvious that you put a lot of work and care into your videos, and it really pays off. I loved every minute of this, I didnt even realize it had been 40 minutes by the time I was done listening! I once had been waking up with little bites on me. Then one day I moved the bed to find a black widow. I grabbed a shoo and crushed it. The one spider terned into hundreds of babies that it was carrying on it's back. The mother had been biting me every night to feed it's baby's on my blood. That's a really creepy thing to happen. I wouldn't have believed it if it was not me that it happened to. I was the host and being eaten. True story JDP Underhill

I use to have it extremely bad.. that is until I started dating someone who has always been obsessed with them. He all that in college as well. He definitely helped me get over my fear of spiders. Im not particularly fond of them by any means lol and I still kill them when I find them. But I guess I see them in a new light. They’re really slow, can barely see (if they can see at all), they’re terrified of everything except for the bugs they eat, and the majority of them are not venomous. The ones that are venomous only bite if their lives are being threatened. They’re just really gross looking lol

Btw.. that Myth is no myth in the south lol. They’re literally everywhere. Most of the time they’re hiding though. If you go outside at night (it has to be dark) and hold a flashlight eye level, you will see thousands of lights throughout the grass. They look like raindrops shining in the light. They’re not. They’re spiders

Spiders aren't really malicious, so this forest just sounds interesting. Creepy, but interesting. After listening to this (great production by the way, probably the best horror narration on the sight) I just wonder what kind of spider parasite/symbiote lives in the forest to produce such creatures.

This whole story was so sweet. I was crying from the time he arrived at their house to the end of the story. It may sound weird, but I can heavily relate to this. Reminds me of some of the hallucinations I had after the passing of loved ones as a form of coping... But I would like to take this story literally. I like it that way. It gives closure in such a wonderful way, leaving the future heavily implied with a goal for us to imagine another story for, a set end point for one that won't be told by anyone else. One of my new favorites. Thanks, man. You always pick the best stories. (Plus spiders are cool and I'm really glad she remained memory and speech despite not needing either for so long. The detail of her growing post-change is awesome as well and leaves a lot of speculation for the reader/listener, giving the opportunity to fill in lost time subconsciously. Beautiful story.)

How many times have I listened to this story? I don't understand entirely why, but I continue to return to this one. In my opinion, this has to be absolutely one of your best. I'd be hard pressed to say if you had a "worst" in any competition amongst the stories you've worked on. However- this one does something to me. The story you composed for Lucy is brilliant. Your constant sound design and even the life you gave to Mr.Lockhart. Your impression is one of my absolute favorites from you. You inspire me, Ronnie. You, and other wonderful Narrators- such as "Nature's Temper", and ofc "Mrcreepypasta". If you must know, I'll even listen to this story while at work. I'd say I've listened to this more than ten times. Perhaps upwards of twenty.
