I agree!! I’m loving it so far. It’s something fresh and new and FUN …. Just needs some optimization … I also hate how the AI movement becomes really janky if they’re like 50 meters from you…. But yeah I’m thoroughly enjoying it so far!

I have been hooked to this game since it dropped. I love this game so much. It is so easy to look past the jank movement and stuff and still have a blast. The devs are in it for the long haul and also said that the nickel and diming shit that so many other games do is for the birds so as far as content most of the stuff that will come out in the future will be free. That and the soundtrack is top-notch. Good vid and subscribed.

Performance is BAD. It’s not unplayable, but I get like 60-100 fps depending what’s happening … sometimes it will dip slightly under 60 fps ….. I have a 4070 ti super, i9 14900kf, 64 gb ddr5 ram…… I will say it’s so FUN though …. Like it has amazing potential, it’s something fresh and new and I’m loving it so far. Just needs optimization. I also hate how the AI has janky movement if they are like 40 meters away. Really breaks the immersion for me Edit: I was getting like 30 fps on one spot of a map lol

@@dkcsi9256 I’m not sure what you mean. Performance variates depending what’s happening and what map you’re on. Anything under 144 fps is bad performance. When I play optimized games I enjoy them much more, when it’s smooth and responsive. I am enjoying Forever Winter but it needs performance optimization no question about it

*Good Farming for Noobs:* You can farm the training mission for fast and easy exp, $, and water. I farmed it for about 8-10 hours and was able to buy every weapon available, all mods, maxed out my base mods, all vendors and standings with them, 70ish water with a max cap of 99, and a couple good rigs with maxed mods. I also have about 2 million in cash left over. It is also great for just learning the feel of the game and learning how to deal with the jankiness. Just go into the training area. Grab the SG ammo and any meds from the container. I leave the AK surplus ammo since I haven't found any guns that actually use it including the ones it claims uses it. Then grab the water and turn it in. I only use shotguns on this farming op. Return to the corridor that originally had the container and water so you can trigger the zombies (whatever they are). Soon as they turn red, run right back to where you turned the water in. Turn around fast and kill the runner which will be bearing down on you. Then from there just wait and let the crawlers approach and shoot them when they are about 5 ft away. Keep looking around as a couple will be sneaking up from your left. Remember, slow is smooth, and smooth is fast. Don't panic. If one gets too close or surprises you just run away a little bit, stay calm and reengage at a safer distance. Don't bother waiting for the items to ID, just immediately grab all. You will make more this way than IDing everything and sorting out based on value. Just takes too much time. Finish them off fast and you will have all the time in the world to grab all the loot. Then go back to the corridor to trigger the next wave. Rinse repeat until you are full. Then extract. Once back at base, *turn the completed mission in,* check your character for exp leveling, throw a few packs of 12 ga ammo in your pack and exit to main menu. You can then select the training mission again. Don't bother selling your junk unless you need the money at that time. Faster to do large batches by clinking the quantity that pops up when you go to sell a stack. I just randomly hit some number keys and when you double click on sell it will sell the whole stack. Once you have enough water in your base you will attract a vendor called Grillo who sells the AA12 full auto shotgun. Yeah, love this thing. Makes this farming op a cakewalk.

Been loving this game, it's been super fun despite the jank and will only improve. Disquieting fact: those towering mechs you see? Those are actually classed as MEDIUM. We haven't even seen a "live" large class mech. Yet...

Hey, if you want better frames at the cost of potentially a bit of graphic fidelity, then go to the display settings, set "Overall Quality" as "Medium", and then adjust the remaining settings from there. There is a setting in the config that can currently only be directly adjusted in the config file or set via selecting a graphics preset and it dramatically impacts game performance. So if you start your graphics adjustments from one of the higher presets, that hidden config value will also be set very high and ruin your performance. With this method, I have 80+ fps @ 1440p at all times on an RX 6950XT.

I was sold on the art style and concept of the world they're creating, so have no regrets on buying the game but Streets runs better in 4k than this does at 1080 - that's not hyperbole - it runs like a 300lb cripple carrying a KFC bucket. But it's coming in to winter now, so having the extra fan heater in the room doesn't hurt. As long as they work hard on optimisation, us regular plebs will be able to play it on PC without having last gen console performance. Making a $30 game is no selling point if it needs a $3000+ system to run it. The game has a bright future, much brighter and more hopeful than the world they're creating. Nice to see the water mechanic not getting unnecessarily trashed too, fair play bud.

Im on a $2000 dollar system and I get barely passable performance. Sometimes dipping under 60 fps in 1080p so yeah it needs a LOT of optimization

Why do you keep reloading the 6 round grenade launcher after each shot? I've used the gun before and I've never been forced to do that. Just trying to keep it full in prep for something big?

The game does look very immersive and bleak, yet that clown with a house on his back just looks silly and immersion breaking. Brought the game a couple of days ago, but that clown trudging around with that stupid idea on his back needs some serious redesign, devs, make the backpack with a large virtual internal volume......not visually in volume on the outside, he looks like an Everest Climber on steroids. And the clunking walking sounds need to be changed to something less farmyard. Otherwise could be very promising.
