Great episode. Love how Terry reads out loud and brings it back to ‘well what does the Bible actually say’. Kinda like Joby. Great wisdom.

I literally walked out of a service earlier because of how terribly masturbatory and feminine everything was. Yet as I open this video, I find you gentlemen discussing the EXACT same lines of scripture in a serious and articulate fashion. Christ is truly working through you all for the betterment of men. God bless.

This episode is awesome! I run a recovery center and we attend a Pentecostal church. This puts me in the position to explain all this stuff constantly. You guys absolutely nailed all of this as far as I can see. Now I can replay this in our Bible study and have some back up.

My initial thought when I first read Acts 2 as a new believer was that they were all speaking in the same language but somehow everyone understood them in their own native tongue. I thought it was as if the apostles were speaking in humanity's native tongue before the Tower of Babel. But then I read again and saw it was plural when it says "other tongues". Listening at the 7:00 mark made me think of that again.

5:39 one assumption among believers is that it is the language spoken before the Tower of Babel, and that all languages since have phonetically derived from.

3:29 what’s described in acts 2 is speaking in tongues, complete with the tongues of fire above their heads.

9:15 humanity is indeed walking back to the Tower of Babel or a shadow of it

Baptism IS essential for salvation. Here are just a few verses involving baptism. If this isn't essential, it wouldn't have been the first thing these individuals did as commanded. I will never understand why baptism is such a stumbling block for so many. If you believe baptism isn't essential, after reading the New Testament there's nothing I can do or say that will convince you. Acts 2:38 NIV Peter replied, "Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. Acts 2:41 NIV Those who accepted his message were baptized, and about three thousand were added to their number that day. Acts 8:12 NIV But when they believed Philip as he proclaimed the good news of the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, they were baptized, both men and women. Acts 8:36 NIV As they traveled along the road, they came to some water and the eunuch said, "Look, here is water. What can stand in the way of my being baptized?" Acts 9:18 NIV Immediately, something like scales fell from Saul's eyes, and he could see again. He got up and was baptized Acts 10:48 NIV So he ordered that they be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ. Then they asked Peter to stay with them for a few days. Acts 22:16 NIV And now what are you waiting for? Get up, be baptized and wash your sins away, calling on his name.'
