The Forgotten 2!!! CP Arbutus Corridor!!! A&B rail Service Spreader @ Vancouver BC 04JUN15

A nasty fight between CP and the City of Vancouver boiled over. Over the last year (after the city of Vancouver and our terrible leader Mayor Gregor "Moonbeam" Robinson failed on numerous court cases). CP has started clearing the "disused" Arbutus corridor for railcar storage. This was halted a bunch of times due to Moonbeam dragging CP back to court (on the taxpayers dime). As of December 22nd 2015 the City has filed a motion before the Canadian Transportation Authority, saying by not offering the line up for sale in 2004, they violated the transportation act. They want to force CP to sell it to them at 2004 scrap value (worth significantly less than what its worth today).

The machine is working its way north to 25th Ave, this is as far as track crews would go for the rehab work. I drove by one day and saw the track equipment parked on the north side of 25th, this and the rest of the line was not reworked other than brush clearing including the removal of garden plots on railway property. A year later the track was lifted and the right of way paved over!
