Awesome video bud , I love the bits of history involved , we have a really amazing country to explore , keep up the good work , happy gold hunting , old towns with history gives me the tingles of wonder what it was like and small finds like the bits of pottery etc make me excited sometime better than finding a bit of gold , the unknown fuels me to keep on looking and yes come back again to find more secrets of the past like the button you found . Button off a uniform, possibly trooper or maybe mines inspector would be my guess. I found one very similar in central Vic, it was off a Fireman's uniform

Solferino was a small gold mining township on the upper Clarence River, about 92 kilometres northwest of Grafton. The town was short-lived. Over the last hundred and thirty years the bush has reclaimed the site and today there is very little evidence that it existed at all. Alluvial gold was found on the upper Clarence and Rocky Rivers in Northern New South Wales in 1859, which caused a gold rush to the area. In 1870 there was another gold rush on the Clarence River when gold was found in the quartz reefs in the mountains on Yulgilbar Station some fifty miles ( eighty kilometres) North-West of Grafton. They were known as the Lunatic and Perseverance Gold Reefs.
