Personally never forgotten, matchstick, axe, broadside, and oddball. Wait isn't this most of the pilots of the TCW. Too bad matchstick pushed his damaged vehicle too hard, to a point it impoded and killed his gunner and two of his brothers. Maybe Anakin could've brought a couple more escort vehicles beside plo koon.

Part of the reason there's so few notable clone pilots is bc they had such a high Mortality due to the physical limitations of organic soldiers vs the extreme precision and superior speed and mobility of a Droid Fighter.

Many clones have perished in the air or in space. More than needed to, infact. Though the battle droids might have been funny and not what you would call killing machines, the Vulture droids, unfortunately for the clone pilots, were the real killers. With no heart and extremely dangerous turrets, many clones fell to these mechanical beats.

The way the Republic Navy is organized sounds confusing based off Oddball's story alone. The pilots are trained to fly multiple ships rather than specializing in a single craft and the fact he was promoted to commander of a venator yet still served as a pilot in starfighter combat makes no sense to me.

+Zero Two Where does anything say he was the commander of a venator? Commanders didn't command venators, captains did. His commander rank likely meant that he was in-charge of all of the venator's starfighter squadrons.

While nothing has been said at all, I have a good feeling based on the description of the unfinished Rex and R2 top gun arc, that Hawk was probably meant to die during that arc, possibly crashing on the same moon that Rex and R2 would crash on either during the crash or more respectfully due to something on the moon. Plus this would keep up the trend of Clone Wars 501st members either dying prior to ROTS, dying during Order 66, defecting or otherwise being taken out of the picture. If they are willingly to show us Ridge's fate due to being an OG member from the 2008 film, then we hopefully can expect to see Hawk's for the same reason.

Storm_Raider 66, really. Piloting for the Republic was a very dangerous job. You have to go against numerically superior droid fighters that are faster, lighter, and had more proton torpedoes and Buzz Droid Swarm Pods. It is not only very dangerous to be a clone pilot, it's also a thankless job.
