I 100% remember this club. It actually started with the Ping Rapture which was a bomber, as well. I've always carried a 2 wood (13 or 13.5 degrees) as an option off the tee or when I really need to blast one down the fairway on a longer par 5 approach. Still have the Bridgestone J15F 13.5 in my garage and it's amazing. Taylormade has the Rocket, which lives up to it's name. PXG, Callaway and Titleist all make 2 woods, as well. Lots of really good options out there if you aren't a fan of the deeper face on a mini driver.

14 degree ping G2 driver with shorter shaft is what her indoors uses . It cost 45 in a charity shop and in the Archer field range it goes the same as my mates 375 Taylor made mini he just bought . 😮

LOL. Almost makes me go to the garage and get my 1998 progen full bore driver out. 460cc wasn't a big thing back then, so every driver was a mini driver by todays standard. Steel shaft sadly, so I don't think I'd get much speed out of it anymore. Not much of a forgiving club either.

@James Robinson, You should also try the Cobra “Long Tom” 2 Wood. That was definitely a “mini-driver” but could also be used off a good lie on the fairway.

My wife has a Taylormade 12 degree driver that I sometimes hit when mine is giving me fits. To be honest, I would put it in my bag if it wasn’t a women’s driver. Swing as hard as I possibly can and control the shot! Awesome

It's probably because you properly load the shaft. Nothing wrong with using a more flexible shaft if it fits your tempo better

I looked at this Ping G Stretch as an alternative to driver as I'm not getting on with driver. Bought a Cobra SZ Big Tour and loving it. Hitting more fairways and more consistent longer distance than driver.

Have to increase the weight to keep swing weight the same. Depends on brand but it isn’t hard to do. You can buy second hand weight screws to adjust it and find calculators online to make estimation on what you need

Honma 3 wood , 13 degrees , 2020 is like a mini driver for about 120 blabs . 10degree tsr4 Titleist driver with an inch off the shaft is probably the ultimate though .

I have a TaylorMade V Steel 13 degree 3 wood that serves as my "mini". Works well off the tee and from the fairway. No adjustability but that does keep me from constantly messing with it.🙂

Had the Stretch for a few weeks. Great off the tee if you middle it, pony off the deck for most amateurs. Went about 10 foot high off the deck and not very far in my incapable hands. It's defo no mini driver for a 10 year old bat. ⛳

I have a Adams Tightlies strong 3 wood and that thing goes a mile. Kind of tricky off the tee, though, because it's only an 1 1/2" thick. Got to tee it real low.

I have an old 3W from Bang Golf I re-shafted from a S flex to a senior flex. It is in the 300cc head size range. I made the shaft 42". Dispersion and distance are pretty darn good (age 65, three back surgeries, etc). Adams has always made good equipment to help golfers. I have low profile 5W, 7W, 9W, and 11W. Irons start at 7i. My handicap is down to 16 now. Rock on with that 3W!! Make the game fun and easier.

For my game, I hit my mini driver same as my driver in accuracy, just my driver is 25 yards further in carry. So I use the mini driver off the tee where historically I used my 3 wood as I hit the mini more or less the same distance as my three wood. I use my three wood only on the fairway now. The mini driver is more accurate off the tee than three wood for me. A person just needs to find the right place to effectively use the mini. It isn’t for everyone.

I played the g400 13* Stretch this season. It can hit rockets both off the tee & deck but it is not a mini driver. The face is long and shallow just like their newer fairway woods. They’re not comparable clubs to me

I never understood the point of a mini driver. Use a 3W (or a 5W) if you're really struggling of the tee, it's the same thing. But really, just fix your swing and learn how to hit your driver.

@@beaulandexavier5486 get that completely but the shorter shaft has just helped me hit it out the centre more often and confidence is an important thing. Looking at trying with driver again but keep Brnr as an option. My driving was so bad before I think the distance drop off has been minimal
