1 had a 81recaro for 25 years, with the original 301 turbo, burned up three turbos, it was fun, first red dash lights i every saw, picked it up after dark, three stage turbo light on the hood the more you sunk your foot into it, a few trips from va to Daytona

That's awesome man, the lights are still there on my dad's 80 but then again, his is like new... Almost. We plan to get a working light bar for this car. Growing up with my dad's, I thought all 2nd gens had red dash lights till I got a little older. They should of all had red really.

youd laugh if you saw the trans am i bought. 78 y88 gold special edition. a tweaker in louisiana turned it into a drag car. painted it red, pulled the 400 pontiac and trans out, put a bbc in it, and relocated the battery and FUEL TANK into the trunk. no way it ever passed tech. no more gold t tops :(

i agree, but ill also state that the pace cars and other 79-81 SE cars are the only ones worth owning because they are the absolute best looking. once you own them, there is no going back to the basic versions.
