This is really close to how I was taught how to volley (I’m utr 9ish serve volleyer) finish with string bed open, out across as a drive/slice combo

Cool video. I actually learned naturally how to do this on the backhand. You can hit incredibly solid backhand valleys using this technique. Somehow, it’s just easier to do this on the back because your body is already set up to be able to create that side spin. On the forehand this works well if you’re hitting that volley inside out - which is what you were demonstrating. I suppose you could use this to hit cross court also if you really adjust your stance.
