One of the things I find interesting is that in the early episodes, this time period is referred to as the Dark Ages. In later episodes, as historians and archeologists discovered just how rich the period was, they are far more likely to use the term Medieval.

Phil is so genuine and such a character. He never changes over the years in the series. I imagine his private self is much like his TV persona. He has fun, he's a great educator and explainer, and he's so passionate about his work. I especially like when he talks about flint knapping and how it ties or connects him to the people doing flint knapping thousands of years ago. There is a recent interview type vid (COVID pandemic timeframe) where he talks about this in detail. Check it out.

I have to say it, just like everyone else has already... but damn, do they look so young! especially Phil and mick I feel like I've been deprived as a child growing up...how has this show not aired in the USA? 14, 15,16+ seasons or whatever it is...and no one thought about bringing it over for USA tv? could have spun off an American version like antiques roadshow and still aired the original episodes too... it would have been a hit on discovery or history back in the day...or if it was on the science or nat geo

An American version of Time Team? Time Team is 99% about buildings. What could they dig up in the USA?

I'm looking for the background music of this episode. A lot of Time Team music is not in the soundtrack on soundcloud unfortunately. Does anybody have any advice on where this music is to be found and / or can be acquired? Please do let me know!!! (like the track heard in the intro of this very episode as Tony starts talking)

I too am looking for it, i love the mood. As i understand it, there's more music available via soundcloud if one pays for the extra tracks, but I'm not certain if the soundtracks from these earlier episodes would be included. Soon i will buy the extra tracks and maybe message the uploader on soundcloud to ask about this music.

Ogham is pronounced without the “G”. In some parts of Ireland the GH is silent..."ORM”

Is that why the Great Orme just outside Llandudno is spelled like it is?

This straight up looks like an episode of the old Doctor Who, I’m half expecting them to all pile into a police box and go back to when it was originally built, or start fighting some corny guy in a suit

Good on Tony for pronouncing those Welsh ll's correctly (Llangorse, Llangasty). Mick and Robin, not so much.
