The Game Boy Color is a great device and the Analogue Pocket is also a great device, but what if there was a fusion between the two? Well you do not need to ask this question, because there is the FPGBC!
In this video I take a look at the FPGBC. Some pros, some cons, a battery test and some more.

The most significant issue is the incorrect clock speed when one purchases a console capable of reading cartridges, resembling a real GBC, and utilizing FPGA technology, with the intention of achieving an experience as close to the original as possible

True. From what I played I didn't notice any problems with the games feeling slower or faster, but the FPGBC does have the option to adjust the clock. So one up/down might be enough to improve the problem.

@@dyXurChannel True, it's not a big difference. I believe with the Super Game Boy, the difference was bigger

Right. Didn't they even release a Super Game Boy 2 in JP specifically to get closer to the GBs clock?

@@dyXurChannel Yes, the SGB2 has accurate speed and is much more expensive

Hey, great video. Which brightness and volume settings you had in the battery test? Yours is the only one I saw going past 6 hours, all the other videos showed 4-6 hours of battery life.

The volume was off (it depends too much on what you play and when a test takes too long I would have to listen to it while trying to sleep) The brightness was the "default" that the FPGBC came with which was around 75% of the max if I'd have to guess.

When the GBA one comes out they should make it work with the aftermarket GBA shells that are available at the moment adding trigger buttons to the GBC shell may more work that it is worth. So I think having the two separate designs works best

I doubt they'll make it work with any aftermarket shells, since they do sell their own. Adding triggers to the shell wouldn't even be too hard I think. They can do it similar to the Analogue Pocket, but I think they could just add the triggers to an adapter thag plugs into the cartridge slot (maybe would require a V2 with some extra pins in the slot).

@@dyXurChannel I do like that idea as well, however as a FPGBA version I would like to see their shell in the GBA style some prefer a vertical format some like a horizontal layout what make this kit shine is the DIY aspect to it it really cuts the cost down.

@ryanmichalski7420 They will probably go for the regular GBA for sure, but it would be a nice options for owners of the fpgbc (even if an update might have to be made over smth like UART). Of course I would also love if they would go for the GBA SP.
