My bass player (who owns an FM9 Turbo and an AxeFx III) and I have been discussing the VP4 a lot lately. He keeps saying it's not necessary compared to the FM9 and I brought up that it would replace every pedal I use with a real amp, including my King of Tone for less than the cost of all my pedals. That doesn't even take into account the cost of a midi switcher for combinations of effects... 😂 The King of Tone will never leave my possession, that said... 😏 I've contemplated using my FM9 as simply an effects unit with a real amp, but the VP4 seems to be more designed to be in front of an amp.

I have it paired with an IR-D. I went from eight pedals to three (can’t part with my Protein and Big Sky). Building song presets is absurdly easy and if you need a tone, it’s in there. Amazing tool for live playing.

I’m running the vp4 in the stereo effects loop of the X88IR into a syn 50/50 amp and stereo Mesa Fillmore 212 cab with EVM12L BLS 300w speakers. Sounds glorious. My pedal board went from 38" wide to 24" wide and ready for a pedal sale 😂

Hi dear friend ! In live Vp4 is it better to connect it in the send and return of amplifier or does it have a better sound connected to a frfr speaker?

would be perfect if they included at least another two switches for axample chorus and filter for boost like fx8 is great u have 8 blocks we just needed fx8 upgraded with latest efx cheers nice playing

I think one could do something very similar with the fm3 but with one less switch.
