I hadn't heard of the Frames since I heard this song on "So You Think You Can Dance" a few years ago. I'm glad I watched that episode. Their music is the first to ever make me cry. Beautiful.

Saw the movie last night. THe musical chemistry between Glen and Marketa was undeniable. I've followed Glen's career even before his motion picture debute in "The Commitments" Some advice to the masses, go see these two talented people perform magic on the big screen,. You won't regret it!!

I just got back from Irelan (music group) and saw the movie. I agree, it kicked ass!! I fell in love with this song (as well as Marketa) and...god!! Great song. I can play it on the guitar....

There needs to be more groups like this. Glen and Markéta are incredible in Once, and the songs they wrote are so heart warming. I'd never heard The Frames, but this is great.

The harmony between their voices is flawless, and the violin along with that light rock feeling and beat makes this a great song.

Do you all remember Glen as the guitarist in the '90s movie, "The Commitments"? Another brilliant music-based movie which features great Irish musicians.

I have to sincerely thank Glen, Marketa and the makers of this film. My wife and I are in a VERY similar situation as musicians and in life. (except our ending is that we are together). This story is our story in so many ways. Falling Slowly fits my thoughts to her dead on. Kudos and blessings....you touched our hearts and even more importantly, after years of waiting to hear my wife sing, this song gave her a voice. I've waited years...... Thank you so much.. -R-

@kabluwi The Frames is the band Glen formed almost 20 years ago in Ireland. The Swell Season is Glen and Marketa's project. The other members of the Frames play along with Glen and Marketa in tours of the Swell Season so it can be said that The Swell Season is The Frames + Marketa, although they are two different projects with two different styles. This is the Frames version of Falling Slowly that came out on one of their albums.

Was originally done with the frames and Marketa. There was a debate just before the oscars as to whether it qualified for the category because it was originally recorded before the film and there was thoughts that it was outside the scope of the whole film. Thankfully this wonderful song got the focus it deserved. Well done to all involved.
