One more thing that strikes me about him is how often he hits it from the middle of the bat, usually you don't see high strike rate players like him hitting the middle this often

I will end this. ABD is the greatest white ball batsman ever. One year he played Odi with strike rate of 130+ with 70+ average. People can't do that in t20. Batting at 3 - 4 - 5 he scores a lot. Plus you don't need to move him up to get his best. Wherever he plays, he is the best. I know Jos is hot and currently he is the best, no doubt. But come on. AB started what Jos is doing now. Impact innings with high average.

I was going to disagree with you (like you need some boffhead from NZ to agree with you!) but as I often do when I need a stick to judge against, I compared Buttler's record to the player I think is the best ever keeper/batsman T20 player - BB Mccullum - and their overall records are pretty similar (Funny note both have scored exactly 2140 runs in T20i as of the date of this post!). Love your work Jarrod!

Best White ball batter today considering he can adapt to any role. Best finisher in ODI, phenomenal T20 batter both while opening and bat at 4 or finish the innings. He has copied template of ABD in terms of both shot selection and innings building and blasting madly in death with 360° shots. also he is best player to play Ramp shots. Bazz was good too, Dilshan invented and made famous but buttler middles it and sends them in seating behind keeper.

Well ABD was great. But, average of only 26 in T20i (which is ok-ok only) , doesn't quite define. He batted in the middle order mostly so his average is justified. He made a lot of impact for his team though.

One factor you need to add is that butler is one of the best six hitters and player majorly in the power play unlike maxwell or abd who plays in the death. It is easier to hit in the power play doesn’t take anything away from him, it just diminishes his comparison with abd and maxwell

Actually, AB has done very well in knockouts. He scored 60 n.o. at 150+ SR vs NZ in 2015 semis before rain intervention. In 2011 QF, he was cruising at 90 SR in a low scoring game before being unfortunately run out vs the same opponents. Even in IPL, he has been great. In all the IPL knockout matches that RCB has won since 2012, AB has been MoM.

he is very good but people making him about to be top 5 white ball players of the last decade or something lol . dude doesn't even average 40 in any format. there are so many better like kohli,rohit,ABD,amla,warner,finch,de kock,williamson,guptill,ross taylor etc and buttler averages as much as tim paine in tests after 50 tests
