Google a local lodge near you. There are a TON of fake ones. You don't want to be a fake mason. You have to believe in a higher power, be of age, pass a background check, and ASK to be a mason. If someone invites you, they are probably a fake mason. We don't invite. You have to ask one to be one. Let me know if you want to know more. I'll point you in the right and legitimate direction.

i just asked my parents if they knew about the Freemasons and apparently my grandfather was the "Worshipful Master" of the London Masons during the 80s. according to them - they're a worldwide group that contributes a lot to charities, and they have numerous ritualistic practices eg. handshakes to know if you are a part of them. he has the robes and a book full of Freemason rituals / speeches - and if a loved one passes away, they will send a Mason to accompany you during the funeral in condolence. the secret society aspect is apparently "all in the fun of it" ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ (doubt - i know gramps up to no good)

My grandfather was a late Grandmaster in the Canterbury Lodge. Real creepy stuff. Lot's of sneaking businesses and secretive friendships. From what I can gather it started out as a country club and evolved into an exclusive business dealings club and personal interest lobby that became incredibly powerful. My grandma also told me that he vowed his son and son's sons as tribute if he were to betray the brotherhood so I might be fucked.

My old boss was a Freemason, head of company, always came in with Freemason shirts jumpers hats, stickers (compass/masonis sigil) on his car and all. Without fail would wear a freemason emblemed shirt under his work outfit, was bizarre. Never asked him about it, didn't think he would appreciate it at work.

I got a university scholarship from the freemasons a few years ago. I went in for an interview at their office. The office and the people seemed pretty normal to me. They didn't try to sign me up or anything, but they did want good photo ops for their magazine (which they continue to send me). To me it just seems like a glorified Old Boys Club, where they try to influence and fund different things. I expect you'd want to be fairly secretive about that, and the secret handshakes etc help to identify who around you should receive that influence and funding. Not that Old Boys Clubs aren't bad. I worry that this video showed us more about what random people think the Freemasons are, and not much on what they actually are. Quick google searches turn up more information than the content in this video.

Dosent mean you’d get accepted, invitation is generally by a referral basis. You have to be “of worthy character” to become a mason outside of family links.

The truth is we don't really know who this man is nor how nor why but something about it seems to be a problem with us (the people who find it funny). I pity him and I have no shame in saying that since his face is already over local social media. Who would want that reputation? I want to know why the content creators feel like their platform deserves the right/authority to flagrantly sentence otherwise private and normal people to that. I thought it was a bit of a funny gag in the previous video but something about this is inherently unethical or at the very least just disrespectful and below the standards of what I knew to expect from this channel. I have a bit of a bone to pick with this sort of exhibitionist flavour of bullying I think is all too common via the influence of tall poppy syndrome, or at least that's how it came across to me.
