Get yourself an AlphaSmart Neo or Neo 2. They're what the Freewrite Alpha is trying to be.

Yeah, I definitely want to try out an AlphaSmart, but I haven’t gotten my hands on one yet. I think the sync method of typing into a file on your computer is hilarious and clever.

@@WritersWins They're a dream to type on and the display is very easy to read. Originally they came with Windows and Mac software to move text files on and off them directly, but having it emulate a keyboard is quite clever and a great bit of future-proofing! If someone comes across one without the software, the software stops working due to OS updates, or someone wants to use it on an OS there's no software for (e.g., Linux, etc), they can still fully utilize the device and easily get their writing off of it. They're really an amazing bit of design and engineering. They even thought to include a guide on the bottom label that explains how to use it and all the keyboard shortcuts if you don't have the manual lol
