Very helpful and yes definitely takes practice. I have lived with anxiety/Panic attacks for 30 years and when I practice being “in the moment “ the more I am in the moment the better off I am. It almost trains your brain.. I feel the more your brain is out of the moment and into anxiety the worse you will be. So practicing being in the moment, as far as going shopping or taking a walk in nature helps so much even if you have to force yourself to do these things, it helps🙏❤️

I also subscribe to Dr. Scott Eilers. He himself has suffered from anxiety and depression since he was a teenager. He know exactly how we feel and he is very relatable. He has over 300K viewers so Im not the only one who adores him.

I freeze, and once the situation is over, all the things that I could or should say come to me later on, and torture me🤦♀️ Thank you Barbara. Recently in very stressfull, situations I started to have a muscle spasm in my neck//shoulders, like someone is trying to choke me from the sides. I need to do the grounding exercises.

I believe the grounding exercises will help - practiced regularly (not during times of stress!) Let us know!

thank you so much. I cannot express the appreciation I feel for you right now. I believe I've been chronically in fight or flight since my first daughter was born (7yrs) . my husband is not patient or kind with me about it and feels the need to tell me how stupid I am. This video is so validating and fills me with immense hope. God bless you and your work. ❤

When I was a college boy (40 years ago) I would freeze completely when trying to show any interest in a girl. Couldn't speak and actually felt physically weak. Approaching them and conversation wasn't a problem, but so soon as I even intended to ask her to get together the stress hit me instantly and I could not function. If she were to approach me and take the initiatives there was no problem at all. But as young women rarely do this I ended up with no dating relationships (not even a casual get-together) all through college. This led to a serious depression which got a life of its own and has followed me over since. Why had no therapist EVER explained this reaction? I did describe it, many times to several therapists, and all I got was "you need to practice your social skills," or in one case all she did was repeat "can't you just push through it?" I very much resent that no one was able to help me with this.

I've had several therapists try to convince me I'm safe. And call my fears irrational fear. It's not a long shot horrible things will happen because it happens all the time Maybe in their lives bad things dont happen but that's not my reality.

I have a question. How can kids reach out for help? I was betrayed by teachers twice, and then gave up when things got worse for me at home. It cost me years of compounded grief.

Is Fawning a subset of Freeze? All I needed to do was wait. Thank you. My fawning feels like I'm "coping" with freezing.

I have a house in a place where neighbors have access and they constantly try to trigger me, is there a way to shut off the flight, fight, freeze response in this type of situation? Also, what can you do if you are in similar situations where you cannot leave the environment like places of work?

I recently realised that I am confusing freeze and depression. When I am often in freeze I thought it is depression because I don't have a will power to move or to do anything. Can you give me a basic distinction?

Is there a video in how to become unstuck? I feel I’m frozen in life unable to take action or an active role to get what I want. Help?
