The Fresh Thrift of Bel Air: Estate Sale Shopping in a Bel Air Mansion

For this week's video I traveled to Los Angeles - where I had time to visit two estate sales...including one in Bel Air and another in Silverlake - the later of which looked a little like a haunted house! Its always a little more challenging to thrift when I'm on the road because I'm far more limited in what I'm able to bring home with me, but I still managed to find several treasures, including some that dated back to the 1800s! I give you a peek at what all I saw at these sales and show you all the great things I found. I also do a little digital collaging - which is one of my favorite creative outlets when I'm on the road.

Very interesting estate sales. The house in Silverlake was amazing. When I attend estate sales I always wonder the story behind the peoples lives that lived there. We recently attended a sale which gave me strange vibes when walking through the house. Turns out the man was serving 30 in prison! Love that you are going to try to return the scrapbook to the organization. Thanks for sharing your great haul.

Woah - your estate sale gave me chills! I suspect the folks at the Silverlake house had been flea market sellers because there were bins and bins of things that look like the kind of stuff you'd see at flea markets...but they were also clearly lovers of a variety of vintage things. The house kind of had a tree house vibe to it...so I also wonder if it was self-built. In any case, I agree that the little glimpse you into people's lives when shopping estate sales is usually interesting. I just booked a trip back to LA and plan to take the scrapbook back with me and hand it over to the theater if they want it...not sure what I'll do with it if they don't want it. :)
