A masterpiece. His comparison to Issac Hayes is spot on. The strings on this song, flute, and horns is very much the kind of lush orchestration, Issac would have done.

A quiet storm staple. Jessica Cleaves sang with this group before joining E,W & F. She was also Jim Browns girlfriend. You should listen to their cut “Baby, I Could Be So Good At Loving You” off the same album. I love your channel. Keep doing what you’re doing. Respect

@@brandonious7732 you’re welcome and yes RIP to one of the greats. Myself being from Chicagoland my favorite was another the great Walter Payton who left us at way too young an age. And thanks for directing Harri to The Friends Of Distinction. In most cases I think the original studio versions are best for first reactions but that video of them from the Ed Sullivan Show doing Grazing In The Grass is so fun Harri might enjoy that.

From the 1969 album, Grazin', this tune reached Number 15 on the Billboard Hot 100's and Number 3 on the R&B charts. It was also covered by Isaac Hayes and Luther Vandross, so you may have heard Isaac sing this Harri. Best known for Grazin' in the Grass, this band has amazing vocals and orchestral backing on this beautiful song. Great band. Great reaction Harri. Thanks Harri and Brandon. 👏👏 Cheers from Canada 🇨🇦

The Friends of Distinction were a great American vocal group from the 60's. They had 3 major hits "Grazing In The Grass", "Going In Circles" & "Love Or Let Me Be Lonely". In the 70's they recorded "Check It Out" & "Time Waits For No One".

The original lyric of the chorus was "strung-out over you", but strung-out was a term in the 60's/70's for someone detoxing from drug addiction, so they had to change it to "spun-out" in order to get radio play. Hey, what can I say, back then the music censors were really strict about words, terms and phrases.
