The often you Listen to it the better it get's... Those 70s scores are the coolest ....Always loved it from my childhood....those movies with the big yellow Letters in the beginning.....pure 70 style...and Then this cool suspense Score....those movies have a specific aura that can't be copied....LOVE IT

I think the type font used on many 70's films and tv shows was 'Folio Bold' or Folio Standard.

About 5 years ago I commented that Eddie Coyle, Three Days of the Condor and Tootsie were, for me, Dave Grusin’s 3 greatest movie soundtracks. The Big Three, I called them. But after watching On Golden Pond again recently, I’d have to add that to the list. Dave was in top form on that soundtrack as well. His music at the beginning sets the tone for the entire movie. As it does for Eddie Coyle, Condor and Tootsie. When the music not only sets the tone for the entIre movie, but stays in your mind long after the movie’s over, I’d say that’s the mark of a truly great film composer.

Dave Grusin has written so much wonderful music for many movies over his very long and great career. But his scores for Friends of Eddie Coyle, Three Days of the Condor and Tootsie represent Dave Grusin's greatest contributions to movies. For me, those are the big three.

Totally agree. Was watching Friends of Eddie Coyle last night, it's just a perfect enhancement of the film. Grusin is a master of film composition.

@@UBZUKkiThe music Dave Grusin created for Mulholland Falls didn’t stick in my mind after the movie was over. Not like it did with Friends of Eddie Coyle, On Golden Pond, etc, etc.

Great soundtrack for a great but often overlooked movie. BTW Mitchum nails the Boston accent perfectly.

Mitchum just embodies Eddie, really stellar work

I watch it all the time. For the 70s mannerisms and cars and styles. Even for the lemon pie eddie eats. Love watching richard jordan drink beer. Just all kinds if stuff.

Still vibin' to this at the end of '22! Me after seeing 'The Friends of Eddie Coyle': 1st time: Meh it's kinda dull & too complicated (bear with me here). 2nd time: Ah so that's why...(Finally understood the plot) 3rd time+: Caught the Coyle fever from after 'Have a nice day' & the outro sequence gave me LITERAL CHILLS down my spine Not a movie that depends a lot on its soundtrack, but every one's a classic. Easily my favorite of 1973!

could they make a grimy film like this now? remember Night Moves, Gene Hackman. such a solid score.

Sadly they couldn't make Gritty films like this anymore look what Martin Scorsese went through making The Irishman everything superhero or Blockbuster no more gritty adult orientated films.

Just watched Night Moves the other night. Such a great flick. Been on a 70’s crime drama kick lately. Yakuza, Straight Time, Taking Of Pelham 1 2 3, Klute and about to start Stone Killer. The soundtrack for Friend of Eddie is outstanding amongst them. They all have great music though!! Something about a gritty 70s flick. I just love it!! Taking any and all recommendations.

@@wormholefarms1565 totally with you on this vibe! I would have to add Get Carter with Michael Caine for gritty action and incredible soundtrack, esp main theme. The Conversation with Gene Hackman, soundtrack by David Shire is also one I watch over and over! Enjoy 😁
