HA! One of my "Little Detectives" just moved back from Ireland! She lived for years in Dublin (went to UCD, married a guy from Dublin), but lived the last 1.5 years down in Wicklow town. She and her husband moved back here this past summer. Hope you enjoy Full Moon Matinee!! (*tips fedora*).

Great presentation! I was interested in seeing the great UK-TV Star Thora Hird in this movie. She played Vera, Roselli's 'cook, live-in maid, 'partner?' ' She played in "Last of the Summer Wine"for YEARS. One of UK's great TV comedies. Thank you again for this Brit Film Noir. ❤️🐾🐾❤️😊😊😊

And you are certainly most welcome! Mrs. Detective watches a LOT of British television (yes, we have some access to it), but most of what she watches are murder/mystery drama series from, say, the mid-1980s onwards. Like "Midsomer Murders," "Vera," "Lewis" "Line of Duty," "Spooks" [but over here, it's renamed "MI-5"], etc. I'm guessing that you're in the UK, and would be familiar with these shows. Glad you enjoyed the presentation!! (*tips fedora*).

Hum, how unusual, youtube imediatly removed my comment. I liked many of the shots, such as the one of the thumbnail and the one at 21:58 where it seens the camera will follow the two only to have a door shut on the audience face! My only caviat with the movie is that I feel that they could have hidden more the fact that the dad was a/THE criminal, might have made the twist more satisfying. Well, I will just say that I liked this movie. Thanks again for briging those to us, you are doing us all a great favour!

Thank you, Detective,for another fine British Noir..a tad scratchy though, kind of like a 1930 's poverty row soundtrack. Loved the shadowy filming and the sexy dame, of course.

Yeah, I thought the same thing - the audio quality was just BARELY enough to consider passable. But I was intrigued with the storyline, so I still wanted to bring it to the channel. Glad you enjoyed!! (*tips fedora*).

Short movie but good. Better than I first anticipated. Still though what happened to Julius kind of figured, the way he ended up.

So sorry to hear about the passing of Pete Rose today, Detective. He was a driving force of the Big Red Machine .....Cincinnati Reds.
@fullmoonmatinee4 ай бұрын
When I was a little kid, I idolized that guy. But as I got older, I learned what an arrogant asshole he was, on-and-off the field. And when he got into gambling on the game (that he KNEW would get him banned for life, after the 1919 Black Sox set the pace), well....what a fool. I'm not missing him.
@jimdep65424 ай бұрын
@@fullmoonmatinee Ok, I get it. I wasn't sure. Johnny Bench didn't like him much either, and Bench was my favorite Red during those years. I remember in an All Star game, Rose went head first into home plate and put a nasty hit on Indians catcher Ray Fosse, and just about ended his career. It was an All Star game and no need to injure the guy. I wasn't exactly a Rose fan either.......he got pretty ugly about being accused of betting on the game while he was a manager...and then he finally admitted it.
@fullmoonmatinee4 ай бұрын
@@jimdep6542 Ya know, I saw him interviewed once about that play in the All Star Game, and what he said made sense to me. He said fans pay A LOT more money for those tickets than regular games, and they should see the best baseball possible. He couldn’t stand guys that slacked their way through the game because it was “just” an exhibition game. He made a fair point that I agree with him on - and that’s why I don’t watch All Star Games of any sport. Nobody’s really trying in them.
@jimdep65423 ай бұрын
@@fullmoonmatinee I' loved the "always hustle" attitude he had and I I don't like to see slackers at the top level of baseball, but nailing Fosse the way he did was like a guy getting sucker punched. Well Detective, I doubt " Charlie Hustle" would be betting on his Reds to win this year.
