@@MaRiOx914 that's a fair assessment, though the end result was the same; whether it was Ferrari's shortcomings or Seb's, his last season was just painful to behold and an extremely unsatisfying end to what had been a mostly good partnership. It's not lost on me that Seb won more races for Ferrari than Charles and Carlos combined. All that said, his last season was tragic and unworthy of his talent. It was more painful that he left F1 before the Aston Martin project finally came good (however briefly).

I find the removal of Carlos from Ferrari to be incredibly disappointing. For the life of me, I can’t understand why Ferrari broke up a driver pairing that has worked so well. It isn’t a commentary on Lewis, but rather me expressing puzzlement as to why they would break up a driver pairing that works. They are throwing away one of the best drivers in Formula One in the prime of his career. Crazy. It is equally crazy why Red Bull didn’t put him in Checo’s seat and rather would prefer some untested green driver instead. Are they that insecure that they’re letting Jos Verstappen decide who takes that cockpit?

Carlos is the perfect team mate to a great driver like Leclerc. If Charles is on it, Carlos has that 1.5 tenth ultimate pace disadvantage to not interfere with him but also back him up in terms of strategy and finish very closely behind him which is great for the constructors’ and potentially taking points away from Leclerc’s championship rivals. But also, he’s so consistently fast and still on a very high level himself that if Leclerc has a weekend where he just doesn’t find the pace, Carlos will still be there which also really pushes Leclerc to still improve in the aspects where he isn’t perfect yet. I think we can see that effect on Leclerc this year, he’s driving better than he ever has, if Ferrari deliver the car next year he is definitely ready to bring home the championship and I’m a bit worried for Hamilton because there’s not much in it between those two now and he is coming into Leclerc’s team. Enjoy your holiday as well!

@dfer95
@dfer95 25 күн бұрын
@@sleepy_lixie Yeah, I don't get it either. Carlos is a very good driver but the Ferrari drivers rarely work together, at most giving a tow when they have a grid penalty or giving their position when the other has much newer tyres. I don't think there is anything wrong about Carlos acting like a nº1 driver, it's his career and if you want to be a WDC you need to be greedy. But in the end Carlos is probably not consistent enough to be a WDC with Ferrari and not "docile" enough to act as a nº2. For Ferrari it makes sense to put Hamilton there because if you are going to treat both of your drivers as the Nº1 then it's better to actually have someone you know has the talent and experience to win it all.

I swear to god yall dont actually watch the races, was Sainz a perfect teammate in 22 when he was 3 tenths off Charles and did absolutely nothing worth of value in the championship fight besides getting beached in gravel? or when they robbed Charles of his Silverstone win to give Sainz his first career win instead of having him play second like he was supposed to help in the title fight Charles was still in? Plus the dude's entire objective seems to be to beat Charles, as soon as he's behind Charles he hops on radio saying he's faster and askingn to be let by, even tho maybe he's pushing and charles is managing like they talked about pre race, and when it's the reverse like in Mexico 24 he instantly bitches about keeping position and not fighting. Let alone the fact that his family is insanely toxic towards Charles, taking potshots whenever the feel the need to + the whole spanish media, the truth is he's not even a good teammate and that's also a reason why no top team wanted him for anything long term

Firing Carlos for Hamilton almost seems like Ferrari killing the goose that lays the Golden egg from time to time in the hope of infinite Golden eggs and instead ending up with nothing in the end. They are trading a rock solid team where the drivers a almost equally Capable but also restrained and respectful enough to race hard without crashing into each other for two drivers who needs the entire team around them, which may lead to the team splitting. I love Carlos and thought his stint at toro rosso was underrated especially in 2017, and of course he’s been great ever since 2019. However, he’s never been championship material, in the sense of Max,Lewis, Alonso and so on. I’d rate him just above drivers from the early 2010s like Bottas, Perez. Hulk, and Ricciardo. Best of the midfield drivers that given the car and right conditions can grab wins and podiums, but can’t string it along consistently in a season or even for multiple. Bonus: I could see him almsot as Mark Weber, given the proper chance he could contend and potentially win a championship, but he’d need to be perfect, which unfortunately for Mark he wasn’t in 2010.

Subtle tweaks can make a huge difference in the unconscious mind of your average viewer. Just some friendly feedback, I'll be watching either way.

Anyone in here who thinks sainz is even close to Hamilton in ability really is just exposing themselves for how little they know about the sport. Also the pearl clutching for drivers getting dropped its like everyone has short memories, this is how F1 ised to be. There is no loyalty, never has been. I like sainz and i rate him highly but there are three drivers on the the grid who are a cut above the rest and they all happen to have WDC.

Ferrari vs McLaren title fight. LeClerc and Hamilton souring and crashing into each other. Same for Norris and Piastri. Max scores consistent P3-5 finishes and the occasional win. Perez fighting to stay ahead of Sauber and Haas. EoY: how on earth did he win again !?

Hulkenberg is story is also very similar story to JB. Don't get me wrong, my favourite drive by far is JB and in Sainz with the current era of Formula 1. I think people like sainz and hulkenberg are like championship material. They know how to get the best of the team and to get on track performance at a consistent pace. Being stuck behind a faster car can be frustrating at times but, they know their positions, and have many laps on the displine/category. Baku this year was a flash point. Something sainz would like to forget. And Sainz and hulkenberg don't need to prove it that they are very good drivers. You know they are. Once you learn their quality.

he will struggle as sargeant fucked williams for next season due to his crashes. the money they get for potentially finishing 8th which is 9 million dollars more than finishing 9th, they actually only get 6 million more because sargeant cost the team 3 million this season by crashing. So when Carlos struggles to score points = blame logan sargeant for that

Ferrari chose Hamilton over Sainz simply because of his celebrity status that can bring a lot in a marketing perspective, and sponsorships. While I understand Hamilton is a 7x champion and Sainz has nothing yet, but is Hamilton really still capable of even matching prime years at Mercedes? If Ferrari could fight for the championship in 2025, how will he cope having Leclerc as his teammate who is hungry for a championship himself. Sainz been upping his game since his struggles in 2022, still yet to find his prime. Leclerc is obviously still a superior driver, but hes not even that far off. The Ferrari lineup is one of, if not the most superior lineup on the grid. I'd put Hamilton and Russell close 2nd, and Mclaren 3rd. If Ferreri wins the constructors this year, it will be solely down to the drivers that made it possible. It's disappointing why Ferrari even chose Hamilton in the first place, when he's only there short term. It's not even guaranteed he'll be #1 over Leclerc.

Let's be real, this whole generation of drivers has been having frustrating careers. Other than Max of course. When Leclerc got to Ferrari and almost won his 2nd race there already, it looked like he was going to have a stellar career but Ferrari let him down too many times since then. Carlos wasn't as impressive in his first seasons, but what hampered him is the fact that Red Bull dropped him. He had to survive "in the wild" jumping from team to team because Red Bull chose Max, and they always operate with a slower outsider as the teammate of their champ. So, basically, Red Bull's domination and the fact that they won't allow two competitive drivers there has been hampering the chances of other talents.

I"ll be interested to see if Leclerc beats Hamilton and, if so, whether he beats him by more than he is beating Sainz this year (bearing in mind Sainz has one less race). If he doesn't beat Hamilton by more than the amount he is beating Sainz it will be 1)hilarious and 2) prove that Lewis's appointment was mostly about PR, marketing and stock values. I just want to enjoy Elkann's reaction if Lewis's great Ferrari adventure goes pear-shaped. Meanwhile I believe that although Carlos's 'sacking' was crass I think he will take his big strategic brain to Williams and do what he and Lando did at McLaren - be a potential big factor in taking Williams up the grid.

It feels odd to remove him at the height of his ability. I never thought of him as being very special but over the years I noticed that hes effectively disproven those who thought leclerc to be the Ferrari genius at play. I believe Sainz was not as good as leclerc although the gap was minor. I think many people saw leclercs potential to go to the edge of the cars capabilities as a sign he would exceed his teammate in the long run and specifically when Ferrari is able to compete again. But Sainz has something only a few drivers have and it became noticeable more and more as he evened the score with leclerc more and more. This guy stays cool and calm and analytic in most situations. It's not that he delivers productively it's that he shows to be performing in situations almost every other driver besides maybe verstappen struggles to perform. I find it hard not to mention that he was the only non red bull race winner for eons while the prodigy still fails to show his outstanding performance that was prognosed. What I wonder about is if sainz just assesses realistically what his chances are that over performing actually yields any lasting gains. If it does then he mostly shines. I would even assume him to be more reliable of winning a title for Ferrari than leclerc.

4:12 At the time of Hamilton signing to Ferrari, there was Alonso who had been a better performing driver than Lewis in 2023, and you could argue that Lando had been performing at least as well as Lewis. So I'd say at least Max, Lewis, Fernando and Lando could have replaced Carlos if the decision was made purely for performance reasons.
